Worked with Joe Bauman and David Kalmbach.
Worked with Joe Bauman and David Kalmbach. Both very professional, straight forward and personable. Felt well taken care of. No xx. Car was presented very clean and as advertised. Transaction was transparent and very cooperative. Was worth making the trip from Michigan. Would buy again.
Good travel vehicle
Comfortable for long trips, smooth ride, wide vision area, plenty of leg room, good for family or couple with lots of luggage. Good engine power for mountains, handles the windy coastal highways with ease. Better gas mileage than most SUVs with more seating and cargo space. Both bench seats fold down for moving large items. Easy entry into adjustable third seat and second seat from side door. Dutch doors allow for window or full entry into back storage area. Plenty of drink holders and side storage for passengers. Rear air effective for cooling the interior evenly. Quality upholstery, withstands wear and cleans easily.

Powell Motors Did It Again !
Happy to have found and purchased another cream puff from Powell Motors again. Knowing from my previous purchase several years ago... I again made the trip from Yakima to Portland for a great deal on a quality used car. The "Team" of Vince, Israel and Pam are able to provide well-maintained vehicles at a very reasonable and fair price. Very positively recommend Powell Motors if looking for a quality used rig at a fair price.
I know all the ins and outs of this vehicle.
I have owned a 95 GMC Safari for about a year now and plan to drive it for many more years. This may seem biased but I will tell you why these can be great vans to own. Is it safe? According to the government no, they give it a bad safety rating. If you ask me they are, these vans sit up at a good height. The previous owner of my van was rear ended at around 60 m.p.h by a car. The other car was totaled but as for the van the only damage was the bumper. Since the production of these vans stopped in 2005 it won't be up to date on the latest safety standards but I think safety wise you won't have to worry to much as long as you don't crash at to high rate of a speed. What about repairs and maintenance? Some cars need to have repairs and maintenance all the time, but not these vans. These vans engines and transmission are built strong and meant to last a long time with little maintenance. Most maintenance will be basic things like spark plugs and oil changes if you are doing the bare minimum. Other things you can get a few years before doing. Since this is a van repairs may be a little more expensive to do. Some repairs I do myself to save money. One major repair than can be common is replacing fuel injectors. This is a expensive repair, I was quoted around $1500-$1800. Other than fuel injectors there isn't major repairs as long as you car is decent to good running and you maintain it decently. Small repairs when the van becomes 19 years old may include replacing exterior door handles and replacing tie rods. What about the interior? It depends on what year you get and what package it is. The older vans 85 - 95 are more basic. Not to many features and not a fancy dash and interior. If you are into basic then the older vans are good. If you want a little more modern and more features then I recommend the years 1999-2000. What about the exterior? These vans from 85-94 are a little short. 95 -2005 are good in my opinion because they are a little bit longer. Some models offer for the back barn doors and some offer hatch doors. I recommend barn doors. How are these vans when driving? When they get old they may take a little longer to speed up than other cars but they can easily handle driving at high speeds. I drive mine on the interstate no problem. When the car does get old you may need to look at new shocks and tie rods. At high speeds with bad shocks this van is a little bumpy. At high speeds with bad tie rods it is a little hard to keep the van straight. Also bad tie rods the steering isn't tight so you have to take turns slow unless you want to make a wide turn. But with good shocks, good tie rods, decent driving condition then you shouldn't worry. Is 95 a good year to buy? I say yes depending on your needs. 95 is basic in features if you are looking for a basic car. It is build like GMC built trucks in that year. It is similar in height and mine has a v6 4.3L. Just test drive before buying to make sure it is in decent condition. What about resale value? As for resale value the value isn't great. Ones in rough but good driving can go for around $500. Ones in decent can go for $800 to $1,000. Ones in great condition can go for around $1,400 Are these great work or family vans? Both the cargo and passenger vans can make great work vans. If you use a passenger van as a work van it is best to get an older one because it has less features and the seats are easily removed. Plus the passenger vans seems to be longer and higher in height. As for family they are good to. Just try finding one in decent condition if you have a family. With all this being said test drive it before you buy and inspect closely. Also I can't guarantee my review because you are buying used and every used car has its issues I can't account for. This is just a broad review.

Great Van for the Family
This van has been really reliable. Ours is a SLE model we bought new. Have done the routine receommend maintenance and only had to replace things that have worn out, radiator, brake master cylinder, battery, hatch struts. The enegine heeded to have the intake manifold gaskets replaced at 190K miles. Been using 100% synthetic oil since 100K miles. Now has 198K miles. Fuel economy has been consistant at 16-17 city and 18-19 hwy, not the greatest, but considering the other large vehicles that would replace it, we have been no worse for the wear. The seats are comfortable. It holds up to eight persons. Drives nice on long trips. We ahve gone across the country in it two times, with our family of five and related luggage. There are interior power outlets in front and rear.

Another thorough and complete job.
Another thorough and complete job. Always a pleasure to make the two and one half hour drive! Kashmier Fueston is the best! She stays in touch and is a great representative of your service department!
Nice size van for growing family, dependable.
I have owned this van for 8 years, I've only spent about $200 in maintenance costs. The van is capable to haul 8 passengers in comfort. Visibility is surprisingly good, with very little in the way of blind spots like some vans. The stout little Vortec V6 has plenty of power even when fully loaded, and can achieve 20 MPG highway. Rear entry is easily accessed through the lift glass hatch and/or lower "barn" doors.

Josh is quick to respond and a straight shooter. I would be very comfortable doing business with Pammi!
most versatile vehicle ever owned
i have one now with 274,000 miles on it. at times with the miles it does road walk slightly. never get one unless it has rear air. you can't keep it cool enough without one. the review that other minivans get better mileage is not true. ours gets 19-20 mpg and our inlaws who have a chrysler get 17-18 mpg. and thats with us who drive faster and have more miles. the optional 25 gallon tank is nice. few have the rear heater which is desirable in cool climate because the back passengers have difficult time staying warm when below 40 degrees. make sure yours has arm rests on the front seats ours does not and we regret it. the two bench seats allow you to seat 8 people and no other van does that. the engine is very reliable but you do have to keep the vehicle maintained. parts are reasonable because it is general motors. very heavy trailers more than 2000 pounds it doesn't do well mainly in mpgs because the mpgs drop to 10 mpgs. overall i would buy it again and are considering it for my next purchase.
