After almost 180,000 trouble-free miles with our 2015 Pilot and an excellent Honda dealer near by, we really didn’t look hard at anything but another Pilot when it was time for a new car. Our EXL, purchased in March 2024, just turned 20,000 miles. We have had no issues with it, and the trip computer says we have averaged 27.1 mpg over the last 5500 miles. That is about 4.5 mpg better than the 2015. The good: It is extremely roomy and comfortable, even the third-row seats. We are very pleased with the fuel economy for a vehicle of this size. The headlights are the best we’ve had on any vehicle. I really like the rugged looks, especially compared the the previous generation. It’s great on snowy and slippery surfaces. The not-as-good: This is my first vehicle with all the modern safety aids. I find the lane-departure system annoying, especially in construction zones. The first time I backed out of the garage with bikes on a hitch-mounted carrier, the car automatically slammed on the brakes so hard I thought I ran into something. (Pro tip: Use tow mode when hauling bikes.) I don’t use the adaptive cruise control because it starts matching the speed of the vehicle ahead long before I would normally change lanes to pass, even with the system adjusted accordingly. However, I can’t see that future vehicles will have FEWER of these features, so I suppose I will just have to get used to them.

I took my 2019 Ford Escape for routine maintenance, plus my AC was not working. DeShaun was my contact person. He kept me updated about the necessary repairs and found discounts where appropriate. We just bought a new CR-V from Honda of Chantilly, and we highly recommend the dealership and salesmen Will and Dio. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. They didn't pressure us to decide, but when we did, they moved quickly to get the car ready and the paperwork completed. Overall, the Pilot is a great vehicle. However, it gets less MPG than my 2020 Ridgeline RTL-E. Also, going uphill, the Pilot sometimes downshifts a little hard. This is a common occurrence among Pilots. I only have about 3500 miles on it. The interior controls are varied, but they are harder to manipulate than my Ridgeline. However, the vehicle seems to operate and drive comfortably. I do have a Touring and not an Elite. The difference in price was not necessary as my wife and I do not use ventilated sears. Would have liked the HUD though. For what I paid for the Touring, it was worth it.

A used Toyota Prius with low mileage is hard to find. We had searched several websites, visited dealers for test drives and were getting discouraged that we would not find what we were looking for. This would be our third Prius (previous cars 2007 and 2011), so we knew what a great deal would look like. Earlier in the day we had almost bought a 2013 Prius V from another dealer, but our credit union was concerned about the price given the 69k miles. So we continued our search on Cars.com and found a 2015 Prius with low mileage at a great price at Waldorf Honda. We called to check the vehicle's availability and made our way in the rain to Waldorf around 5pm. Representative Mark Green was waiting for us when we arrived, with the car ready to test drive. Because Waldorf Honda had a certified lender relationship with our credit union the financing process went quickly. We had expected to have to come back the next day to pick up the car so that it could be fully detailed. But to our delight Mark Green had arranged to have the car cleaned and fresh (previous owner was a smoker) while we were in with finance and we were able to drive our 2015 Prius. YES, our days of 50 miles to the gallon driving have returned.

I went to the Criswell Nissan in Germantown, MD. You never know what to expect when going to dealerships. I went to get an oil change and an inspection to make sure everything was working well. Matthew was the person who helped me and he was very informative. I am not very knowledgeable about cars but he made sure to explain everything thoroughly. He also gave me a complimentary car wash. I will definitely be returning for any future car service I need.
