1995 Jaguar XJS review
I purchased 95 XJS v12, (12 CYLINDER) in 2017 and I waited to write it. I don't want t miss lead the readers. Smooth ride, this cat is lean and mean. I Love this cat and get lot of attention and complements. beautiful cruiser. I am 6 ft tall, 230lb (pot belly). Cost of maintenance:- you are touching.a $90,000 MSRP Car . Average expenses $1000/- per year so far I spent on the breaks and oil change, and rear shock. nothing so expensive besides that. I used abc performance break much better than the stock. in all three years I spent only 2700/- (3K) . which is close to my 2012 Sienna maintenance. MySienna expense was $2000 in the last 3 years. I did my second smog check and passed without any issue.. if you can find one go for it. This model is currently under priced due to the issues with the previous versions.

1989 Jaguar XJS review
Well what I can I say, the car is beautiful both inside and out. No matter where you go you will get questioned on the car. A true head turner and stnads out from all the other cookie cutter luxuary cars in the parking lot. The XJS coupes are the best because of the sleak lines, curves and styling; and when this cat runs it beats anything on the road that is 20 years younger. Like I said, it's Jag so there is maintenance. If are someone who likes to just turn the key and drive, get a Honda, you will be much better off. You to understand Jaguars to own this car, nothing like the XJ's, S-types, and X-types. You need to maintain it or it willl bite you hard with costly repairs. The most important thing is to ensure all components of the colling system are clean and in top notch running condition, if you invest in anything invest in the cooling system. If the engine runs hot, well it's done! Other electronic gremlins and issues arise also but nothing that has a major effect on the performance of the car. As large as the car looks it is delicate both inside and out. Do not abuse the car, things will break. It is a sports touring car not a car you can beat up as a daily driver. The V-12 engine is powerful and was ahead of it's time. It rivals a lot of the cars on the road today but the cost is 14 MPG of premium gasoline. Ouch! Do not use regular or this cat will cough up a nice hair ball. Take care of the car and will take care of you. Reliable? Yes, you only get out of it what you put into it.

Gateway Classic Cars review
Here is a review of my start to finish process of buying a car from Gateway Classic Cars, Ft. Lauderdale: ----- 1. The sales people who you work with are not on site. They're working remote so they don't have eyes on the car. ---- So, 2. You'll want to be connected with someone on site who can start and drive the car, provide a walkaround video, pictures of whatever you want and give their input. I worked with Alex at the Ft. Lauderdale location for my purchase and he was outstanding with helping me to know the car before making an offer. He is the reason that this is a 5 star review. -------- 3. Hauling: They'll get you a quote for hauling the vehicle. I chose Nexus Transport myself to use. They were a bit cheaper and top rated by Forbes. That went just fine. --------- 4. These cars are all on consignment. So, I feel that you have to be a little more careful because you have another party who may not have disclosed things to Gateway. Best practice is to get a pre-buy done from someone like Lemon Squad. That being said, I was so comfortable with my deal, took the risk and waived the pre-buy. And in my case, the Prowler is a mint gem and I have no concerns after receiving it. Also, there is a common thought then you buy a car like this, you should budget 10% or so of the price for maintenance right after you get the car because stuff always comes up, otherwise, don't buy a used car. --------5. Since they're on consignment, they have commissions they charge the seller. As a buyer, I don't care if I see a commissions line on the purchase agreement. As long as my out the door number was what I offered, that's fine. --------6. I wired money to them and within a few hours, I had all the fully executed paperwork back in my hands. Title took about 3 weeks to receive by UPS. And the folder had everything I needed to register the car in my state. Wow! Thank you Barbara! ------ 7. So here is what breeds loyalty. Alex at the Ft. Lauderdale location made sure the car was completely ready to be picked up including accessories that were bubble wrapped. The car was supposed to be picked up at Noon on Saturday, plenty of time before they closed at 5pm. He stayed until the truck arrived...very late....AT 1:30am Sunday morning!!!! (Otherwise, it would have sat until Tuesday). I cannot believe he did that for me. I received my car loading video at 2am. That's unbelievable service that deserves more than 5 stars. ------- Summary: I'd have zero issues with buying from Gateway again....they just operate in a different dealership style than what I'm used to, which is just fine.
1990 Jaguar XJS review
The sleek lines of this Jag makes many turn their heads and stare. When you sit in the seats it feels like the leather was form fitted to you. The ride is heavenly when you are heading down the highway, it floats across the road. It has amazing gas mileage for a V12, it does better than my compact.

1995 Jaguar XJS review
2 years ago I bought my 1995 4.0 XJS cabriolet. I still smile every time I get behind the wheel, or walk by it, or just think of it. I am smiling right now. The styling speaks for itself. The performance and handling are wonderful, and still decent milage. I bought mine with 68,000 miles and to date have only had maintenance costs. The AC evaporator failed, a known problem, last year so I use my wife's car on the hottest days but this is my daily driver. I recently found the evaporator through Welsh in Ohio so that will be resolved when my mechanic has time to do the install. The only two things I don't like, no glove box and the back seats are useless. This is by far, the most I have ever enjoyed a car.

Overall everything went well. The requesting of the original owner for the vehicle keys was never done as I was never notified of a reply.

It is a great Arizona car. I drive with the top down most of the time. Plenty of power with the V12. Ninety percent restored.

1995 Jaguar XJS review
Back in 1998 I fell in love with the XJS... I was 16 at the time and I vowed that one day, I’d own one. Fast forward to February 2025, 27 years later… that dream became a reality. I was so lucky to find a near perfect, signal red convertible that had spent its life in a garage. Even up on the rack, the car was near perfect. Everything still worked perfectly and the car had just turned over on 80k miles. Every time I open my garage door, I smile. The car has that power. Additionally, on the rare sunny day when I put the top down and take it out, I am bombarded with waves, honks, “thumbs up”, and inquires. To be honest, I think it is one of the most beautiful cars to ever exist. She has power, class, sport, and comfort. I was lucky enough to get the straight 6 engine, which I hear was the best of the best. The only cons: Back seat is basically used for shopping bags, because a human couldn’t fit.,, and no glove compartment. I must say, I can live without both! LOL! Another con is people are GOING to stare, so don’t pick your nose and always look your best. I absolutely believe I could drive into a brand new Mercedes dealer and everyone on the lot would break their necks looking… I can live with that con too! All in all, my favorite car I have ever owned (had other Jags, BMW, and Cadillacs) and if I live another 50 years, she will be parked in my garage and I’m sure at 93, I’d still be smiling. Wouldn’t take $75,000 cash for her today… She’s my dream!
