I bought this car used from friend they did have motor problem but they bought it new so kia replaced motor and my daughter drove it couple years then when she graduated I took Kia and bought her new car for her and grandkids and I have been happy with it. It's my everyday car because it gets great MPG. It's got 160k miles about 50K on new motor. So far no issues just keep her up to date on oil changes and stuff. It's 1st Kia I ever owned and I would definitely give them another go if time to buy another vehicle.

The passenger seat does not rise and sits too low. When riding as a passenger, I cannot see out over the front. I installed a 1"-1 1/12" riser and this only helped a little. Not a happy passenger!

I've had my Optima for nearly a year now and nothing bad has happened so far, in 10 months I've put on 13,000 miles; from 74,000-87,000 miles and I haven't experienced a single issue. It looks good, runs reliably, and is comfortable on long drives. However, I feel that the acceleration is a little slow but hey, I'm 19, every teenager wants fast, but I'm really happy with my Optima and I definitely recommend it!

overall great vehicle, caution...the passenger seat is inches shorter than the drivers. Short passengers beware! Our kia optima power driver seat failed, one of the motors. Unrepairable...swapped seat for manual. Reupholster to match. a minor inconvenience. 4/2023 at 148000miles, the engine failed. Hope recall covers

I don't ever write reviews, but will now. I've had this 2015 optima ex turbo 1.4 yrs and really performs well! Smooth ride and not bad on gas. Have had no engine problems. No issues but little head space in cabin . Anyone over 5 10 is in trouble. It feels solid/safe driving. The turbo really moves when power is needed.

Outside of a few repairs it has performed flawlessly. The leather seats cracked well before 60kmi, and we're not covered under warranty. Multiple paint chips at the very edge of the hood, but overall very satisfied. I'm hard on my cars and this one has performed very well.

I have had the blessing of dealing with James Kovack two times - once in connection with the sale of my leased 2021 RAV 4, the other time witnessing the sale of my sister's 2021 RAV 4. At that time ( my sister's visit) based on my experience, she requested James to work with her. My sister's experience and mine mirrored each others. This is now the second optima I have owned and I have to say that I am truly impressed with how KIA has improved over the years. The leg room in this car is fantastic and it's quite comfortable on long rides. Handles nice, has nice acceleration, rides smooth, it's great on fuel, and has very few problems. The interior gets some criticism from some consumers but what I love about it is that it sacrifices flashy exotic dashboard designs for genuine comfort and space. I would argue that the value of the newer optima models exceeds that of the almighty Honda Accord or Toyota Camry. I literally love driving this car and I miss it when I'm riding in someone else's car. The only issue I ever had was with my last optima, which was a knock sensor issue. Kia fixed it free of charge rather quickly and gave me no problems at all about it. My current one has over 50k miles and runs like brand new. You can't even feel the motor running when it's idling. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for more bang for their buck and for anyone who has 1-2 kids.

I’ve purchased new my 2013 Kia Optima back in May 2013. It’s been a fantastic car. I haven’t driven it a great deal & have just 20,463 miles on it as of July 2025. It’s stylish & very comfortable. I still enjoy having & driving it.

Just traded in my 2013 for a 2018 with less than 18,000 miles on it. I loved my Optima and wanted another. This one is nice, but missing the heated steering wheel my other EX had. I like the looks of the cabin on my 2013 better than this one, but it’s not bad. It’s a smooth comfortable ride, good on gas and has some nice safety features. Definitely not disappointed.

We bough this car used in August from a Nissan dealer. There were some hidden problems that unfortunately the dealer did not disclose right away. Window regulator apparently are a problem with this car as well as engine burning oil prematurely. I performed a two-day cylinder soak and upgraded to a higher quality oil and the oil burning is no longer an issue. Apart from these problems, the car has been great for us. No other issues and the EX version is really loaded (it even has ventilated seats). Multimedia gets slow after being updated, be aware. But updates adds some features like, for example, lowering the fan speed when you get a call or ask to read a message. It is compatible with android auto and apple car play, not wireless but you can get one of those adapters.
