The 2000 Lexus LX 470 was Toyota's more plush alternative to the 100 series Land Cruiser, but don't be fooled by that majestic real wood and leather interior - this is probably the most capable car ever, period. The 3rd row seats have enough room to snooze for endless drives. The 4.7 Liter V8 sounds quieter than a breeze. The Nakamichi sound system is as close as you'll get to a mobile nightclub. Sure, the V8 may be quite mediocre, at only 230 bhp and 330 lb/ft torque, but keep in mind - the V8 is INDESTRUCTIBLE - LITERALLY. Our car was bought at 266,000 miles, but that really doesn't matter. GET ONE ASAP.

If you lilke SUV's you will love this one. It drives and handles like a car but is roomy enough for family and friends, 8 of them. This car is loaded with anything you could possibly need for a trip.

This is my 2nd lexus lx and love the car would buy a 3rd however if you are 6'2 on long drives not confortable at all and mpg is horrible i average in city 12mpg highway 17 combined 14.5 to 15 but if you have this car mpg is not a factor but compared to the competition could be lot better i love the design of the car its very elegant mine is a 06 and no one can tell that its 11 years old big downside is no aux n usb with ml sound system and no ice box in center console like the ones overseas

I am on my 4th LX470. I will have very hard time when I decide to move to a different vehicle. These things are indestructible. My current is a 2006 with only 29k miles on it, my last I sold with 273k on it, no rust, no tears, two sets of breaks, three sets of Michelin LTX m&s tires on regular oil Changes and nothing else required. Lexus quality at its best. I think most of these SUVs will run 400k-500k miles without many issues. Buy them from private sellers with oil change documentation and service at Toyota dealers...much less costly if service is required.

Rear ended in a blowing rainstorm at 70+ mph such an impact as to bend the chassis to ground level st the receiver hitch. All the doors were jammed and the door frames crumpled. My wife suffered a cracked vertebrae NO OTHER INJURIES. A LIFE SAVER. 1999 model LX 470 w 148,000 miles. Shop carefully and BUY a nice used one. Safe-comfortable but not cheap. How much is a child's life worth ??? Sammy

I was planning on purchasing it for Toyota Land Cruiser as a second car for my Toyota Sequoia which had 400,000 miles on it. LX 470 is an upgraded Land Cruiser and much more comfortable and I love the car.

I live in Alaska and had to come in for a few months so I purchased this auto because I was going have to rent one for 3 months and could't find a luxury suv less then $10,000. I found this one and because of the Carfax, service records and maintenance I knew it had been taken care of I purchased it sight unseen. I was not disappointed. Although the vehicle handles like a much smaller vehicle, looks smaller on the outside, is actually considered a full size suv, and has tons of room on the inside. The leather is in excellent condition, and looks more like a 2012 then a 2002 model.

I am from Canada and the dealer helped me deal with the Canadian customs office which I really apricate. I love my new Land Cruiser. This has been one of the most pleasant car buying experiences I've had. 5 stars.

This has been a wonderful all around car. Great for lugging all the kids around, family trips across country, snow ski trips to the mountains, hauling tons of kids and equipment to sporting events... you name it... it's done it! Over 200,000 miles and still drives better than most new cars I've been in... just change the oil... fill her up and she keeps on going!!!

Bought my LX 470 with 185,000 miles on it. At 244,000 and am finally having issues with the AHC suspension. Updating to strutmasters coil overs and struts. Around $1500 including installation. Bought this car for a fraction of original sales price and have had no issues whatsoever. Rides like a dream, powerful, and unbelievably sure footed in the ice and snow. Never had a vehicle even close to this steady.

We are pervious Land Cruiser owners', so we knew exactly what we wanted to purchase! We started looking for our Lexus about 2 months ago, and we finally found the year we wanted. It is in excellent condition! Of course the Lexus is the premium level of the Land Cruiser and we could not be happier! Once you have driven a Lexus, not much else compares, at least for us!

I test drove several different SUV's and after I drove this I was sold. No other vehicle came close to the solid structure and ride of this vehicle. Now I know why it's a legend. It drives like a luxury car and is solid as a tank. They say that the Landcruiser is designed to last 25 years in third world countries and I believe it.
