This is my first CX-5. I love it. Previously I drove a mazda tribute which was a 6 cylinder. I was reluctant to purchase a smaller vehicle with a smaller engine, but I’ve been pleased. My only negative comment is regarding the leg room in the back seat. It’s not great but workable for most average size adults.

This is no luxury car but if you are looking for a smaller car with great reliabilty and lower maintenance costs this is a great option. I am a petite female and the car is quite comfortable for me. I drive 18 miles one way into Minneapolis and the ride is enjoyable enough. This is my 2nd Mazda 3, ironically same color as my previous only because of availabilty. This model year all wheel drive was available and served me well in our Minnesota winters. Standard safety features are appreciated. I don't need all the bells and whistles but I do like connecting my phone to my car.

I love my 2014 Mazda CX-5. It is technically a 2014, but apparently no 2014s on Cars.com to review. It is so reliable—requires just basic maintenance like oil changes, new windshield wipers and tires as you’d need on any vehicle. Handles well, even on snow. Wish it had a turbo engine, but it’s plenty fast and not an issue. Never had any big expenses or surprises. My only 1st world complaint is the outdated/cumbersome GPS system and it sometimes doesn’t connect to my Bluetooth when trying to play Pandora—but the phone has never been an issue. I may look for a newer to me CX-5 just for something new to drive! My step-son may be the lucky one in line to drive the 2014 CX-5 next!

Previously we have owned a 2016 Mazda Hatchback with the 2.0 liter engine and manual transmission. Our biggest complaint with that car was the lack of power. We were not expecting a performance car, but the 2 liter engine in that car was just anemic. My wife didn't feel safe trying to pull out into traffic. We recently purchased a 2024 Mazda 3 Premium with 2.5 liter engine and manual transmission. While still not feeling like a sports car (it is not one) it does have considerably more torque than the 2016 we owned previously. Things we like about the 2024 model: - the bump in power - fuel economy - the interior. the seats are somewhat firm, but comfy. The dash is nicely layed out - the buttons on the console are useful - heater/AC controls are buttons and knobs - easy to use - the heater fan! We have had several Mazdas, and the fan has always been underpowered. the fan in this car is adequate - two driver settings that will put the seat in the correct position, as well as let you set the brightness of the heads up display - seat heaters Things we don't like: - auto sensing wipers. the only way to use the intermittent wipers is with the 'auto' setting, and it operates properly only intermittently at best - the door for the gas filler. it is not difficult, but if you don't know how to do it, you may need to google (what I had to do at the gas station) - Fully electric parking brake - I would prefer a manually operated brake. - The pedal area is somewhat narrow. I have somewhat wide feet, so I have to keep that in mind, as some shoes make driving cumbersome. The reliability question was required, which is a rather lame requirement when one has owned a car for a month. I gave it 3 stars as I have no idea yet as to the reliability.

I love my 2018 Mazda CX-5 to absolutely no end! I have a blast driving it, and it is my first car. I have the Touring FWD model, but it does NOT skimp out on features, it has blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, back-up camera, Automatic Emergency Braking, airbags EVERYWHERE, and whole plethora of other safety features. It is very quick, reliable, and fun to drive. My only complaint is there is not much in the way of cabin storage. But it is not a deal breaker, since the trunk of the car has a large cargo area, and lots of room in the spare tire area. It has an amazing Bose speaker system and I was given this car for my birth day at about 30k miles, but it was purchased new. I have FWD (Front wheel drive) but it still does amazing in conditions like rain, and minor snow. It is also the only car from this segment that placed a good rating on the IIHS Crash Test. It is often on par with luxury brands like BMW and Mercedes but having the advantage of being half the cost and Japanese so it lasts forever and also since it's not German, the repairs won't cost a house mortgage. However, if you get a 2018, make sure you get an updated Navigation SD Card. I cannot recommend this car enough, it is perfect in nearly everyway. I am now a loyal Mazda customer, and will always have a Mazda in my garage, I trust them more than any other automaker. Perks: Large backseat (I am 6'1 and can for the most part fit comfortably in the back) Fun to drive Fuel efficient Safety Feature galore Reliable and cheap to maintain Excellent use of space Cons: If I had to choose, not as much cabin storage as I want, but I want more than the average person.

Sales associate Santiago was very polite, knowledgeable and helpful with trying to find a vehicle that suited my needs and budget. I bought a new 2025 Mazda CX-5 Signature before they were gone and no longer available because I really like that this car though not perfect and to some people kind of dated in design and execution but to me is full of good elements that future cars including the 2026 CX-5 will lack. Exterior styling that does not get old quickly and still looks good without being too flashy. A great interior that looks and feels premium with quality soft touch materials throughout. An engine ( Turbo ) and transmission (Not a CVT!!!) combo that makes driving a pleasure. The way the suspension is setup is another thing about this car that makes me want to go for a ride any chance I get. The meaty steering feel , not over assisted and numb. This is a compact SUV that shouldn't feel this enjoyable to drive but it does. You sit a bit higher and taller in the saddle and have a good view ahead and around you with the nice large mirrors and 360 cameras . When my wife is riding next me enjoys the view. The wind shield is not too big and far away and steeply raked which is easier to clean inside and doesn't heat the interior up. The controls some might call old fashioned or retro but as far as I am concerned you just cannot improve on dedicated knobs and buttons for hvac and interor functions and the well placed controls on the steering wheel, drivers door and center consol ( The large control dial and volume knob are perfect!). And who doesn't love a good old shifter with a nice looking leatherette boot at the bottom of it retro but in a good way! Yes ok the the gauge cluster isn't over the top with flashy effects and the infotanment setup and screen size are dated but for me that's a good thing. I don't need too much tech or too much screen, this is more than enough for me, Call me an old fashioned nerd but I prefer books to screens anyday! The Bose stereo sounds good but isn't mind blowing just a good step up from the base unit. This feels like a very well sorted out and put together vehicle. You get in it and drive. No fiddling fumbling and adjusting this and that . You get in adjust your seat and mirrors and go. The pure enjoyment of just how well this car behaves in my hands makes me enjoy driving it. It feels tight and solid with a firm ride that tames rough roads well without being too floaty or harsh and punishing. I think it's a very good balance that rewards the drivers with good driving dynamics and fun. The brakes are solid, competant and feel right from the get go and take no getting used to. The turbo engine is really torquey and doesn't need to be over rev'd to get it to pull. It has a nice sound without sounding silly. Gas milage is not the best but I figured that to be and accept it. The tranny works well with engine. It is smooth and does what a good transmission should do almost invisably with no clunkiness or gear hunting. The CX-5 interior is nice comfortable ( and dare I say somewhat elegant and classy ) the dark Caturra brown nappa leather seats with contrasting stitching and perferations for heating front and back and cooling in the front look beautiful and myself and my passengers find very comfortable. The rest of the interior is mostly black with real wood trim ( Who does that anymore) The interior is quiet with no sqeeks rattles or road noise (so far)! Rear seat room is enough far the average sized person. And the trunk space considering the vehicle size is fine. All cars cost way too much now but what you get for the money I really think when compared to other compact SUV's is a good value and the quality fit and finish (Made in Japan!) doesn"t feel cheap. I only gave the reliability rating 3 stars because this would be better answered in say 5 years. I am a first time Mazda owner and having commited to older (proven) technology in a changing turbulant world ( ICE engine not Hybrid or EV) I can only hope that this purchase plays out well.........Fingers crossed and happy motoring Zoom Zoom!

I bought myself a Christmas gift, a new CX5 SignatureTurbo the day after Christmas and I absolutely love it! I don't' know why I didn't get one sooner. I have always been a Toyota, Lexus guy, but I must say this classy vehicle beats the others. Why, let's start with the interior. Mazda makes some of the most beautiful interiors! Exteriors too!! The fit and finish are superb! The CX 5 is extremely quiet and smooth riding, and I can honestly say it is quieter than any Lexus I have had in the past. There is also the fun factor! If you haven't tried a Mazda, you need to. They are a driver's car and fun to drive. The trim level I have has the Bose system and has a beautiful surround sound. Crank up the volume and it's awesome! The safety features are excellent, and everything is conveniently located. There is no need in paying for other Luxury cars when you can get a Mazda and save thousands, and they are the best keep secret out there. Luxury, fun, good looks for much less. I am definitely staying in the Mazda family.

Joshua Cotto-Cruz was very knowledgeable with the CX-90, CX-70 and CX-50 features and capabilities. Very helpful in our car buying journey. He was honest and pleasant to deal with. The sales manager did a great job in helping us get to a price point we wanted. Unfortunately we couldn't secure the color option for the CX-50 and CX-90 we wanted. I will be back the next time we need a new vehicle.

We were loyal Subaru owners previously but were forced to look at other car makers when the 2025 forester had problems and recalls. The 2025 Mazda cx-5 was the most similar car, with no recalls or issues. We were pleased with the price and ready availability, made the jump from Subaru and haven't looked back. We owned several Subaru's previously and never had any issues with them - our most recent was fifteen years old. As retirees, the new safety features like the backup screen and warnings for blind spots are terrific. I just hope the Mazda proves to be as problem-free. Also, the Mazda CX-5 was highly rated by our insurance co. and lowered the cost of our insuring our new car.

I absolutely love my 2024 CX5 Preferred. It's my first SUV and my first Mazda (after 3 Cutlasses, 2 BMW's, an Audi, an Acura, and 4 Lexus sedans) and I couldn't be happier. The interior is luxurious, the ride is powerful yet smooth and quiet (equal to Lexus) and the handling is great. I test drove a RAV4 and a CRV and there was no comparison. It's fun to drive and I recommend it whole-heartedly.

I am delighted with my 2023 CX-5 Signature in the hard-to-find Eternal Blue. I've had it about one year now and it's more than adequate for my driving needs. No, I don't need a rattle-prone pano sunroof. The six-speed non-CVT transmission is just fine. Never need or use(less) the paddle shifters. Performance with regular fuel is just fine. As an "early senior", I don't need huge cargo or passenger space. Only complaints are the Apple CarPlay isn't wireless; and miss the power tilt/telescope steering wheel and power memory exit seat that I had on my unbeloved '20 Lexus NX (which I was glad to get rid of!). All told, I'm a Mazda believer and buh-bye Lexus!

We looked at Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, and Mazda and selected the Mazda CX-5. Honda and Toyota have priced themselves out of the middle-class budget, and Nissan’s Achilles Heel is their very brittle CVT transmission. Mazda is by far the best-looking, has AWD as standard equipment (a $1,200 to $1,500 option on other brands), easy-to-read gauges and dash, nice sound system, soft-touch dash and doors usually found only on “premium” brands, the best price, and the most beautiful factory color on the road: Soul Red. Our family has owned vehicles from all 5 companies, and have been totally happy with our problem-free CX-3. Anyone looking to buy a compact crossover should consider the CX-5.

Test drove a used 2019 CX-5 two days ago and loved it. However, the exterior had a number of scratches and no sunroof, which is a must. Came home, looked online and found an immaculate 2018 CX-5 with only 31K miles at a Mazda dealer 70 miles away. Test drove it this morning and brought it home this afternoon. Smooth acceleration, quiet cabin, absorbs bumps nicely. Feels like driving a much more expensive care. Touring model gives you all the features you would expect in a much more expensive car. Looking forward to many years of driving comfort and enjoyment. PS Took a very critical friend with me to check out the car, and he had nothing but praise for it.

I bought the 2016 Mazda 3 with manual transmission brand new. Since then I've driven 280,000 miles through new York City traffic . I've just change my original clutch at 278000 . Most reliable car ever owned!

I recently purchased a used 2017 CX-5 Mazda and I LOVE everything about it. I have always been a Honda fan but after this purchase, I just like everything about it. It opened up new possibilities for the Mazda line. It is great on gas, especially for commuting. It is comfortable and there is a considerable amount of trunk/cargo space in the back. That in itself is a plus! I feel safe in this car and it is dependable.

This is my second CX-5. This first was a 2016 I bought in 2019 and loved tremendously and then it was totaled when I was rear-ended by someone texting and driving during Covid. I drove a sort of hand-me-down Jeep for a while during the weird Covid period when everything was uncertain but knew I wanted another CX-5 as soon as I felt financially comfortable. The car is extremely comfortable, handles well and has a beautiful streamlined and simply classic look. My partner who is a die-hard Mercedes snob even loves it!

My 2021 Mazda which was purchased new at Mastria Mazda was recently hit while parked by another vehicle. While awaiting the insurance and appraisal repair process I wanted confirmation that my car was safe to drive. I contacted Mazda to get a safety inspection for peace of mind. I bought my 2023 CX-5 Premium Plus back in March and haven’t regretted my choice since. I love this car! Took awhile to acclimate to the infotainment selection dial, but now that I have, it’s easy to use. The interior design and component selection are impeccable. The handling and acceleration (for a 4 cylinder) are also very impressive. Only con is the limited cargo space.

This is my follow up review for 2024 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition. I have zero complaints or nits. With just under 3k miles I am now avg 31 mpg mostly on country roads and some city driving. No highway miles yet. Do not hesitate to buy this car you will not be dissapointed. I do wish this trim came with wireless carplay and android auto but I knew that when I purchased the car. The fit and finish is amazing.

We have owned our 2022 CX-5 Turbo for 10 moths and it is a great vehicle. Our previous SUV was an Acura RDX Advance. It too was great but this Mazda is of a higher quality and $10-$15,000 less when purchased new. Every once in a while the doors don’t lock when I walk away (I have it set up to do so) and that is the only issue I have had in 10 months and 10,000 miles. I highly recommend any Mazda product. We also own a ‘21 Miata RF, have owned several Miatas along with a Mazda6 Signature and a CX-9 Grand Touring. All have been great vehicles.
