We have had our 2015 B Class Electric Drive for over two years now, and it is a great car! New it cost over $42,000, but we bought it off-lease in February 2019 for $18,000. This car is smooth, quiet, very quick, and beautifully made: the German engineering shines, as well as their attention to detail during construction! We have had not one problem with this car. Maintenance has been limited to new tires, wiper blades, wheel alignment: in other words, practically nothing. No oil changes, transmission servicing, etc. We replaced the original run-flat tires with standard radials, and the ride improved dramatically.

It wasn’t a perfect experience, but I still give 5 stars because I truly believe Carrie in corporate and the GM of the store are stand-up people who genuinely care about making sure their customers are happy and in the right vehicle. In the end, everything worked out as it should. Carrie was extremely professional, patient, and helpful throughout the process, and the GM was equally understanding and supportive. I stand by the fact that CarMax sells reliable, well-running vehicles. Two of my children have purchased cars from them, and I recently purchased a Ford F-150 myself. Each time, the vehicles have been excellent. I’ve been very satisfied with the service I’ve received—both when selling my vehicle (fair offer) and when buying one (fair price). I was in the market for an all electric vehicle to use for my commute to work and daily driving around the metro area. At first I considered a Nissan Leaf because they’re easy to find as lease returns and the price was right. I even went to test drive one, but it’s attractive neighbor, the Mercedes B Class caught my eye. She’s all electric, but she doesn’t have unsightly styling that immediately reveals her as such, unless you happen to catch the “Electric Drive” badge on the back. For a Mercedes, the B class is a real bargain, but it is every bit a Mercedes, boasting ahead-of-its-time infotainment and safety features. I love that the car has blind spot monitoring and automatically brakes to maintain a safe following distance. Several times, the car has reacted much faster than I could when someone cut me off in traffic. It feels and drives like a luxury car, and being electric, it is so quiet that it’s my favorite place to listen to music. Acceleration is instantaneous and peppy. The car handles incredibly well in corners and holds tight to the road. There are a lot of menus and electronics to fiddle with if you so desire, but the learning curve is pretty minimal and most things are quite intuitive. This is a lot of technology for the price point. That being said, the simplicity of an electric motor not having a complicated transmission, no internal oil changes, etc makes this a reliable and elegant car to own and drive.
