Surprisingly an excellent value for sports car. Bought mine used and quality is still intact. The reliability has proven to be very good. A fun DIY car that is easy to work on. Parts are priced reasonably well and readily available. The Mercedes roadability is the true fun factor. Classic Mercedes styling, being a unique hardtop convertible, and name, will win many over now in and in the future.

Also for people they can work a little on cars, the common things are usual very easy to fix, service items actual do most not require extreme Mercedes knowledge, also to access this service items on the car is relatively easy. Terrific road car that handles so well you want to take the road with twists and turns. The folding hardtop and styling shows you have arrived and the 350 performance is top shelf. Previously I owned an SL550. When it was totaled out because of an electrical fire in the trunk I decided to look at the SLK model. while it is not the car that my SL was, my SLK 280 serves my needs quite well. It is my fun car. I use it for weekend road trips and just joy rides when the weather is nice. It has a lot of scat and sounds cool when you tromp it. I love the looks of the car and often get complements when I drive it. I am very satisfied with my choice to buy my 2008 SLK 280.

This is a chocolate box of a car. I give it to German engineering and craftsmanship for packing everything into this model. I wonder if anything with a combustion engine has been made better than this? Right now, I can't think of anything I don't like about it - even keeping it clean is a pleasure. OK, paying premium gas takes getting used to. The big question.... Am I good enough to deserve this? It's a crime ($23.5K for a 2012 model, with Sahara leather and burled walnut, with just 59k on the odo. Took it straight to a Mercedes car specialist to look over. Happy to report it's in tiptop condition. ) PS I don't know about reliability yet. But I had to rate it, so was optimistic. I was careful to study the Carfax service history for my vehicle - and am going into this knowing that TOC is going to be "higher than average".

Bought my 2012 SLK350 in 2020 used with only 40,000 miles on it. One of the best investments I could’ve made, certainly before the onset of huge price increases of used cars. Mine is the Steel Gray exterior with Sahara Beige (real) leather interior along with with burl wood accents. I certainly prefer the 3.5L V-6 with its 302 HP and its quick acceleration. After updating maintenance & reconditioning the interior & exterior, the SLK is trustworthy to take on long road trips without worry. The only complaint I have is that the footwell gets extremely warm in the summertime even with the hardtop down. This is a known characteristic of the SLK and Corvette based on design & nature of the vehicles.

The C230 Kompressor (2.4 liter) engine is SUPER dependable…IF the car has been maintained. If you don’t have a service record and are not good at detecting problems on a test drive then do yourself a favor and spend the +/- $300 to get it inspected at a competent Benz garage. Mine has 200,000 miles and have never had ANY big expense…most I ever had to put into it is about $400…which is what it cost to replace factory front brakes, or to service the auto trans with fluid and filter. change. Only mechanical problem I have ever had are worn cam sensors, which is common and costs about…$400 to repair. My experience after driving the car for ten years is that parts are affordable on eBay…used lower mileage engine: <$1000. Main thing is to replace supercharger oil if it starts to whine louder. YouTube has a video on how to do that w/o removing the supercharger. Lastly, while I maintain the car, I also drive the holy xxxx out of it! It’s only going to start leaking oil if you don’t get it changed often enough, or if you drive it like an old lady who is not from Pasadena…

This is a great sports car. It has a retractable hardtop, so it like having a small coupe as well as a convertible at the same time, in less than 25 seconds you can go from one to the other. I find them very much problem free and fun to drive.

This dealership was to me way down in Pasadena. Truthfully thought about turning around on Wednesday. Decided to keep going. Arrived and was met by Robert, a totally up front individual. He pulled out the vehicle gave me keys and said try it out, I will talk to you when you return. The professionalism he possessed was exceptional. We had a 45 minute discussion and I bought the vehicle. I explained that I had no way to get back to the business, from just below Towson to pick up the vehicle. Robert didn't hesitate and said not to worry we will work something out. They delivered my vehicle on Friday and gave me gas $. This was totally the exception and a worthwhile experience.

My 2005 SLK 350 has 250,000 km and it runs very well and the body is clean (no rust). There is a small oil leak but that is to be expected for a car with this milage. Overall, I love this car.

My heart always beats a little faster when I push the start button on this SLK 350. The exhaust sound let’s me know it’s alive and ready for another fun drive. This is an all around great car, plenty of power, great handling, very comfortable and an outrageous Harmon Kardon sound system. Good fuel economy for a V-6 30 mpg on the highway and 20mpg around town. Mercedes really hit the mark with this car, a great value for the price.

I bought my 2007 SLK 280 used in 2022. I had it inspected and knew ahead of time I was going to have to put another $5k into it to make it right and how I wanted. So far I’m very happy with the car and am glad I spent the money. Great combination of being sporty, luxurious and roomy. I initially was considering buying a used Porsche Boxster but I’m 6’4” and it was too cramped and the interior looked and felt cheap to me. My SLK just looks and feels very high quality and it is so much fun to drive. I put in an upgraded radio with touch screen, usb, CarPlay etc. made in China that was made to match the existing accessories (highly recommend). The car is in such good condition people think it’s new. I’m always looking for excuses to drive it and can’t wait to get in it. It has a top speed of 155. I have had it up to 130 and it’s solid as a rock. The Germans make their cars autobahn ready.
