In 2016, I bought my 2017 Porsche Macan fully-loaded at Downtown L.A. Porsche. The sales experience – from test driving four different Porsche SUV and sports-car models, to the calm negotiations – was the most professional in 31 years of car-purchases. Yet, my 2019 customer service and car repair EXCEEDED this positive sales experience. The one throughline in these experiences is DTLA GM Victor Ghassemi. In short, my tires were defective and there was a battery issue. After I talked with a closer dealer who tried to upsell me roughly $3000 in repairs, I reached back to Downtown L.A. Porsche. Within 48 hours, Victor’s professional driver picked-up (and later delivered) my Macan for free. Victor took care of every issue with astonishing generosity. I have had my '02 base 6 speed manual Carrera Coupe for about 5 years. It was a car I had checked out, but my wife bought for my 50th. I love the car. I do some "spirited drives" with a great group of folks early Sunday mornings (when the back roads are pretty empty). The car is just a blast to drive hard. I have never come close to finding its limits in terms of cornering. It can be driven quite sedately if you keep it under about 4,000 RPMs. Fine around town. Stop and go traffic is obviously a pain with any manual car, but the clutch is a little stiffer than, say, a Honda. Road trips are fine if you can fit, and it's a bit noisy on the highway from tire noise. I was interested in the 911 over a used Cayman (or Miata, etc.) because I can put my kids in the back (they are 4 and 7, and they LOVE pulling "g-forces" The main downside is this is a 22 year old car with a list of things that really need to be replaced. Not because they are broken, but just standard maintenance. I need a transmission rebuild to fix an occasional issue with 2nd gear. Rear main seal. Check the IMS bearing. Water pump. Then the suspension and engine mounts probably need to be gone over. All this is probably $12,000-$15,000. Bottom line, these 996 911s can be had for mid-20's, but it's still a Porsche. You don't get Honda-priced parts when you need to replace something.

Still reviewing them have had good contact so far. They were great about bringing my other vehicle to my home.

The car is perfect. Looks fabulous, handles magnificently, is solid and fast. Nothing ever seems to go wrong with it. Oh’ it is a cabriolet and is perfect for the Texas climate. No additional comments needed.

I purchased and held car for 4 years. After I purchased the car it needed many things, water pump failed, brake lines, alternator failed, motor mounts failed, cup holders snapped in all I spent about $15,000.00 on it in 4 years on a well cared for car with about 40k miles on it. It’s not cheap to keep up and I did not overpay for repairs at the dealer. It’s a great car however it’s going to cost you to keep it up properly. All the while you own it you will have fun when it’s not in the shop. Every time you hear a noise you wonder what is next and how much will it cost. This is a car for owners with disposable income, time, an extra car and a good local Porsche specialist.

What can I say, the benchmark of sports cars. I have a 4S Cabrio. I chose the 4 as I like all-wheel-drive, even in Florida. Better grip. The S also has more horsepower. Build quality and fit and finish our superb. The ultimate sports car without all the problems of the Italian cars. You’d be hard to find a car with better handling and Performance. The look is timeless. There’s no mistake at what you’re looking at when you see a Porsche. Great car.

This is my 3rd Porsche and this time I chose the 911 T. I wanted a xxxxx to the wall driving experience in the Smokie Mountains near my home. The T does not disappoint. It performs flawlessly. It hugs the corners -I can easily take 25 mph at 50 mph or more in perfect control. The engine/weight ratio gives more power than can ever be realistically used even if you have a long stretch that is police free. Overall it is a thrill to drive, the cabin is comfortable without being fussy and it growls like a caged tiger with the sport exhaust.

Making update to my review below. Porsche Downtown LA contacted me directly and agreed to pay for all repairs and make the situation right. They were very apologetic about the entire situation and are willing to go above and beyond to make things better than right. I appreciate their response.
