Although the entire experience lasted a few weeks, the team did a great job with timely and upfront clear communication. The staff is easy to work with and accommodating with very low pressure or annoying phone calls/emails. The day I actually picked up my GTR, they had all the paper work ready and I was in and out in less than 45 min! They also offered a very fair price on the vehicle I was trading in.

Took factory delivery in October 1985 of a white '86 951 (944 Turbo). Still have it...wonderful car to drive, performance, handling, looks. My plaything on the weekends and only $30K miles after all these years. Versatile with the hatch for a run to the store or an overnighter or for the golf clubs. Lopes along at 85mph in 5th gear, drop to 3rd and punch it, the turbo kicks in and your head snaps back. 220hp stock, can be chipped to 300+hp, relatively light car with unbelievable handling and you have a real winner. You are at $100K for anything close today. And...it's a PORSCHE!!

Hats off to Drake and the service team at PP in Boise. Had extra time on a drive from OR to NV - called PP on the way in to see if they could squeeze in a quick wash to clean the thick wall of bugs caked on the front of my car. Drake worked with the team to create space - we were in and out in less than an hour - during which we grabbed a fabulous burger at the Golden Wheel Drive In next door. Few people can understand that my car has 250,000 miles and is 25 years old. Once you refresh the fluids, belts, bushings, bearings, rubber and clutch you will have one of history's top 5 handling cars... capable of running another 250k. Check the oil, brake and power steering fluid on a weekly basis and be sure that the fuel lines in the engine bay have had the Federal Recall done. Pull 3rd gear at 4,000 rpm's into a right-hand sweeper and watch your rear view mirror cars shrink.. IMHO, only a Corvette, Lotus Exige, Boxster/Cayman/GT3, most any recent Ferrari/Lambo, or an M3/M5 would handle as well as the antique 944. And none of those cars can be found running for $4,000 or less. Porsche - There is No Substitute.

Great styling - lots of fun to drive - good gas mileage - reliable - handles great, but not very fast. Main issues to look out for is timing belt and water pump replacement - costly, but has to be done. Great entry into Porsche ownership.. lots of these around to purchase..

Still gets looks and comments on the street and there are few cars that can rival performance and fun to drive. Started with the 944 and moved to 911. Porsche fan forever.

The 944 is a joy to drive the NA versions are slow car fast and handle even worn out very well. The motor is present not spectacular at low rpm it's vw 2.slow like at the top end it's all good induction noise like many non 8 cylinder German engines. Braking is decent but not modern, Interior on the early cars is cheap the later ones less cheap, seats are comfy and the hatch is very usable, exterior looks good the pop up headlights add to the screaming 1980s vibe and in the right color looks great. Starting with the cons it's not fast my but dyno tells me mine is making 110ish hp at 260,000 you want fast get a C4 or C5 Vette when the car does need work it's not cheap took $4,500 doing it all myself to bring mine back from the brink of death not great but decent for a Porsche. Interior and wear items can often be worn with age and 6+ owners (mine had 16 previous owners...) plus a 30 year old entry level sports car often being not maintained and put away wet by many previous owners. Overall can recommend one of these great handling fun to drive practical Miata's if you don't want to potentially spend alot on maintenance there are newer and cheap platforms but if your willing to put in the time it's a fantastic car

It's an excellent drivers car, I have a 944na, so it's not fast, but it's still an amazing Porsche experience behind the wheel, it handles very well, and for a sports car it's comfortable

The Naturally Aspirated isn't the fasted of the 944, but it is still quick, and turns on a dume. Way before it's time, and under appreciated it. very few complaints. I would say, as a mid-late 80's car, the electronics were what had the most issues. Since it was fuel injected, the gas mileage was always great. The car today 2018 still almost has zero rust, which is almost unheard of.

From the striking looks to the silky smooth inline 4 the 944 is one of the best cars in the world. it also happens to be an incredible bargain at the same time. Of course with any Porsche the maintenance is going to be expensive, however everything except the timing belt can be done at home in a matter of minutes. the owner's manual explains how to do things from oil changes to the brakes. And oh yeah, did i mention how it drives? The steering is sharp and gives tonnes of feedback. They don't call the 944 the best handling car in the world for nothing. The suspension soaks up every turn while the steering tells you to go faster. Its great! This is not however a dragster. it does the run in 8.3 witch is the same as an old Toyota Avalon. the sunroof is a great feature because you can remove the large panel over your head and have a nice open air car but with the rigidity and safety of a coupe. All over the web there are buyers guides but my advice is get and inspection done at a good Porsche mechanic before you buy it. If you pick a good one you will soon see why Porsche's motto in the eighties was "nothing even comes close" Happy motoring!

With the front engine and rear transaxle design you get a near 50/50 weight distribution and the feeling that the car pivots around the driver in the tightest curves and handles near better than any modern car.
