The original build price of this car when purchased new absolutely explains the options and engineering that was desired. Five years later after depreciation, the only change was price. The creature comforts, instrumentation and performance is all there!

We bought our 2014 Porsche Boxster Base in early 2016 with only 1,200 miles on the odometer from a Porsche dealer in NC. We’ve owned Corvettes, BMW 528i’s, Mercedes 300D’s, Subaru’s, Prius, Explorer, Suburban, etc and our Boxster is by far the best car overall! During the extended factory warranty we had it serviced at a dealer and their warranty was excellent. Now we use other experts for service and the have access to the factory maintenance and can reset the yellow service requests after completion. The 2.7 liter flat 6 is excellent and nothing beats the sound it makes above 4,000 rpm. Also ours gets 40+ mpg at highway speeds and corners like it’s on rails! Go ahead. Buy one!

I have owned 2 Boxters. First one was a 2001 S series. Currently own a 2008 Base model. These cars are just fantastic to drive. Both were Triptonic. The exterior update on the 2008 is perfect. Only 47,000 miles on it. Bought the car with 34,000 miles on the odometer. Near mint condition. One tip for new owners is to change oil and filter every 5,000miles. I have a great mechanic who specializes Porsches and Land Rovers, I have both. Saves me me big $$$ over dealerships cost costs on repair. Follow the maintenance ‘schedule and you will have a blast. My wife and I love driving through New England with the top down. God I love the car….

Not a daily driver. But, by far the most fun car I’ve ever owned. Bought a 2013 S MT in 2015, still can’t part with it in 2024. This one’s a keeper. It is a pure joy to drive, mostly top down but even top up, the flat 6 boxer engine sound is incredible. Handling is superb - it’s like the car is an extension of the person driving it…the car goes where ever you want it to go effortlessly and nimbly…it’s amazing! The 981s MT is an incredible value. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

I have currently owned a 987.2 Porsche Boxster for 4 months and have driven a total of 5,000 miles so far. As a convertible it has been a comfortable daily driver. Having both the trunk and the front trunk is a blessing as the Boxster eats up all my groceries. The only bad thing is that people think I'm putting food where they think my engine goes haha! Performance wise, well it's a Porsche, it's amazing. As the engine screams to redline, you get a sense of great joy, even only having 2.9 liters of displacement. Cornering, oh man the cornering, the Boxster hugs corners so well it will make every other car you drive feel like a land yacht. Weighing under 3,000lbs it's one of the lightest modern cars out there. Steering is sharp, it's weighed a little heavier than normal cars which is what you want on a sports car. PDK is telepathic, it's the benchmark for dual clutch transmissions. In normal mode it will comfortably drive you around town. Put it in sport mode and the car will stay in the powerband, giving you power as you demand. All professional reviews of this car are positive, and that's because it's like you've hit the jackpot with this car. The negatives of this car are if you buy a 987.1, you'll have to watch out for the IMS bearing. The other negative is that it's a Porsche, this means you'll pay bigger bucks at the dealership to maintain this car, compared to others. Luckily 987.2 cars and above are rock solid and will provide miles upon miles of smiles. Like I said before, you hit the jackpot!

1st Porsche -a base 2013 6-spd. I've owned a lot of more powerful sports cars. BMW's Audi, Vette's whatever. I love this car -drop the top and cruise the mountain roads -get serious in the twisties and the precision in handling and the sound of that flat 6 on downshift and acceleration to meet that next corner? Enough said. As a daily driver -no. as a weekend or extended weekend trip with the SO -sublime.

This car is an amazing roadster and easily the best bang for your buck. I have also owned a Miata and the Boxster feels much more refined. If you are able to afford it, I feel that the Boxster is just a better Miata (more comfortable, more spacious, faster, looks a lot better)

That hard driving machine can also include driver comforts like two small trunks, fourteen way adjustable seats, launch control, twenty inch tires, a 445 watt Bose stereo and a top that folds at speeds up to 30 MPH. You can tool around Los Hollywood or drive it at Le Mans. Porsche designed the Boxster S to be a brilliant sports car and they succeeded.

For the price, it's a bargain! It IS a Porsche throughout, after all. Great performance and highly reliable. Without kids, its a great commuter car or just going out for a drive. With two trunks there is plenty of storage for baggage or just groceries.

My car had the IMS bearing replaced. With that said it has been a very reliable car. I use it as an everyday driver and also on the autocross track for fun. It now has 75k miles and is still a very trusted driver. I love this car!

The 2005 Boxster S is an absolute blast to drive. I have a giant smile plastered across my face after every drive. The only other car I've driven that was this much fun was another Porsche (1986 944 Turbo). My Boxster has been very reliable with no major issues to date. My only complaints are that anything I have done on the car is expensive and it has some annoying quirks. One example: If the battery goes dead, the heated seats and built in garage remote stop working until a "factory reset" is preformed (strange but true). This factory reset requires a computer scan tool that costs $1000s. So, a trip to the mechanic is in order after a dead battery. That is both a waste of my time and expensive.

Josh was easy to work with and helpful. We did have some trouble with the truck we bought but he worked with us to get it repaired.

Reliability, ease of maintenance, fuel economy, ergonomics, I don’t see what’s not to love about the first generation Boxster. I even decided to keep my 986 boxster over a performance tuned 996 turbo... that’s how much I like this platform. It’s a wonderful design and doesn’t seem to get the attention it deserves. I’ve daily driven my boxster extensively over the past year, road tripping from Colorado to Florida to California and even down to Arizona. Miles of smiles.

I've dreamed of owning a 911 Turbo since I was in my teens. I'm now 63 years old and don't need to drive 150mph anymore. Last year my wife and I decided to look for a convertible to recapture the days of when we first started dating in 1987 when she had a 1982 Fiat Spyder 2000 convertible. We traded that in 2004 on a BMW 330Xi. We had a pretty sweet deal lined up on a 2008 BMW Z4 until the day before we went to pick it up and found out the dealer sold it from under us. What could have really sucked turned into a golden opportunity: we chanced upon a 2001 Boxster S with 59,000 original miles. We have not regretted the decision one bit. Yes, the ergonomics are somewhat dated compared to today and it's not the latest and greatest technology, but we bought it to drive, not to be distracted with all sorts of gizmos. (I'm employed as a Sales representative at a local Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep Dealer for over 35 years. I'm exposed to all the technology). This little Bavarian bomber is an absolute blast to drive; comfortable, quick, sticks to the road like burnt eggs to a cast iron frying pan, and turns heads everywhere. It's capable of 160+ mph, but the right road at 55 mph brings grins all the time. We just went for a weekend trip with it and had no problem with room for our luggage, a tote bag, and a small soft-sided cooler. And as an added bonus, we took it through the famed Hawk's Nest Highway on Route 97 north of Port Jervis, NY. Wonderful to drive, comfortable even after a couple hours, fuel-efficient (except when I play with the Tiptronic on a twisty road), and so far, dead-bolt reliable. So I didn't get my 911 Turbo; the Boxster S is a more than welcome consolation prize. You owe it to yourself. P.S- My wife drives it more than I do!
