Upgrading from a 5th gen 4runner and I couldn't have a better SUV. Plenty of hybrid power, very smooth transmission, great acceleration and super comfort features and excellent interiors. Premium package is well worth it, especially 360 camera, safety features, and ventilated leather seats. 5000 miles in two months and no regret at all. Toyota nailed it. If you are looking into an upgrade from a 4Runner and any similar midsize SUV, do not hesitate!

I know how everybody always runs to write a review when it comes to anything going wrong! I think it’s equally as important to let people know when you have excellent service I bought a Mercedes C 300 from Bob today and it was absolutely a seamless transaction.... Reading some of the reviews here on Cars.com, and I get the impression folks bought the wrong car. This Land Cruiser is perfect. Toyota stripped out luxury, got away from a 90k luxo-barge, and built and off-road SUV. "the ride can be rough/stiff at times"; it's body on frame, for good reason! The suspension articulation, ramp angle, etc... beat the pants of a unibody SUV. "The transmission is jerky..." for a few thousand miles; once it learns your driving style, it smooths out (my '23 Alfa Romeo with the ZF 8-speed did the same thing). Hybrid systems are complex, and once the vehicle learns where you throttle off/on, brake, how firmly you accelerate, it behaves much better. "The hybrid offer rubbish fuel mileage"; first - blame the Federal Govt and CAFE for everyone switching to hybrids. second - if you actually take it off-road, you'll discover the brilliance of having electric motor torque at low speed while crawling... much better low-speed control than even my old LC100 with a V-8. "the interior plastics are cheap"; Toyota made a decision to use long-wearing, durable materials, and keep the cost down, so we could get an excellent off-roader for 55k (a little more than the average selling price of a car in America), instead of 90k (previous gen LC200 luxo-barge). Bottom line, if you want the luxo-barge, get the GX... the V-6 won't work as hard, has a larger tank, it has leather, and a trick suspension that smooths out body-on-frame ride characteristics... if you want a rugged off-roader, without stuff to break, and don't plan on being precious about it... the current gen Land Cruiser is a bargain, checks all the right boxes, and has reliability the Wrangler and Bronco can only dream about.

I read the cars.com review. Faulted for not having air suspension. It doesn't need it. The ride is amazing. Has Toyota quality so factor our repairs that you will be spending in time and money on the others. Especially the Mercedes and Range Rover. Resale is far better. Another savings. Front seat needs adjustable seat cushions for longer legs.

I have owned this for 157k miles to date, we have driven cross country multiple times and it has given us ZERO issues. Been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned, and is better in every single way than our previous 2003 Land Cruiser. I love this thing. Only complain is the cheap steering wheel leather that flakes off. I have zero plans to sell our family hauler.

I bought this truck in 2003 with 35,000 miles on it and it has never let me down. It will not stop! The body is still in pretty good shape (just a little rust starting up under the lip of the upper rear window by the tail gate latch.) I change the oil once a year (I have forgotten a couple of times and gone two years.) I take it off-road, on long trips, and it is also my daily commuter car. I have no complaints.

I bought the vehicle for the reliability ratings, stealth luxury- a Lexus without the ugly front end, elimination of the 3rd row, and the historical resale/trade in value. So far, I am very impressed with the technology and safety features- already used the radar lane detection and auto braking that avoided a rear end collision. I feel very secure, and the exterior looks are impressive (black on black with bronze BBS wheels). I have owned and other German SUV's and the trade in or resale values have been horrible. Let's see how this Land Cruiser works out. The gas mileage is tough to get used to in the beginning, yet the comfort and capability around my farm is incredible. You get the best of both worlds, stealth luxury and a work horse with brawn.

I was in need of a new car . The one i had was bought in 2005 but the year of the car is 2001. I wanted something a bit newer and affordable. I didn't catch the guy's name since my dad was the one who dealt with him first. No pressure at all. He was very helpful. I test drove the car and loved how it drove along with it's a big upgrade to what i had. So decided to buy it. I bought a 2012 Infiniti G25x, leather seats, AWD. front seat heaters, sun roof, backup camera, defrost on the side mirrors and it's a V6. I love it. I highly recommend buying a car here.

The LC is a do it all vehicle . IMO it is the ultimate roadtrip vehicle , it was my daily driver as well . I drove it through torrential rain in Florida , in a bad snow storm in Colorado going from Great Sand Dunes National Park to Breckenridge, Drove in Sand , scorching heat in NM ; The LC always inspired confidence on and off road . It?s full time 4WD so it is always ready to go , the Crawl control is noisy and weird to use but gets the job done . The interior is quiet in the 14 you get adaptive cruise , front and side cameras , ventilated and heated seats, premium audio, a cooler , leather , among other amenities. The Duelers from the factory are a great all around tire the LC had 52k miles when I sold it and tires still had plenty of traction. I know it?s expensive and most people will not use its off-road capability due to fear of breaking something , nothing ever broke, scratch or bent and I did some good off roading and all it ever needed were the scheduled oil Changes . I think that the solid reliability and the confidence that it will take a lot of irresponsible abuse to break this vehicle is what you pay for .

I have had many Land Cruisers over the years. This one is the best by far. Very reliable and fun to drive. You won't find a better built SUV.

Our land cruiser got close to a house fire. It melted the front and we still drove it home. Best car I have ever had. The insurance totaled it. Trying to find parts to repair it. Front melted off. Literally.

I spent quite a bit of time at Georgi's yesterday and today looking at used Tacoma. These guys are awesome, they know Toyotas! I was getting discouraged by lack of knowledge from even the dealership when I had specific questions about older pickups but these guys have all the answers and don't pressure you with the typical kiss-xxx car sales pitch. They also have an amazing fleet of the highly sought after used Tacomas. Andre and Georgi were super friendly and took time to talk with my bank on Saturday morning, supported my plans to finance, went over all the numbers with me, came down in price a bit (even though their prices are highly competitive) and let me test drive the vehicle without a passenger (which I really appreciate). Once I chose a vehicle, they gave me tons of details regarding the history, where it came from and the accident it was in - even showed pictures of when it was wrecked. These guys are doing great work and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good deal on a reliable Toyota!

I am about to give my 2005 land cruiser to my daughter. It is an excellent car. It has never had one single thing go wrong with it in almost 75,000 miles. Great handling and safety: it might save her life. Excellent perforance and reliability. Great dealer service. Don't appreciate this site's comments about its "excessive" size. It is none of your business what size car readers might want - labelling it "excessive" is opinion, and is an attempt to influence -- it is not fact. If anything the land cruiser is smaller than SUV drivers might want. For the size, it is efficiently designed and roomy. SUV's that are properly designed (that is, not top-heavy) are far safer than cars. Half of all collisions are one-car. As long as there are phone poles, brick walls, delivery vans, 18-wheelers, buses, buildings, etc. out there, you will find me in a massive vehicle. . It is not difficult to enter and exit. SUVs are particularly easier for older adults. They can "haul" themselves up into the car by the conveniently-placed hand-hold, and then, again using the hand-hold, slide out of the car using gravity as their friend. Much easier than climbing out of a sedan. I have taken numerous "little old ladies" to meetings and to plays (etc) and they all appreciate the ease of entry and exit, and all appreciate the large supportive seats of an SUV, which is almost never replicated in a sedan. And I have never heard of an adult riding in the third row of any car at all. The third row is for car-pool, although you may certainly do as you wish. Before this car, I owned a suburban, which I loved, but it was far more expensive to drive, owing to repairs, even though it got "better" gas mileage. Before that I had a Volvo Station Wagon. All have been fine in their own ways. The Land Cruiser blends the best of them all. Yes, the car requires gas. The engine has excellent responsiveness and pickup. When trying to turn into traffic, or maneuver out of the way of other drivers' occasional errors, this is an important safety feature. Again, the opinions of this site are wrong. Highly recommend the vehicle.
