2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime review
High points: Extremely quick, versatile as an off road and ski car as well as classy for nights on the town. Unbelievable range as I have gotten over 50 miles electric equal to some older all electric cars. Low points: My SE model lacks fast charging. Tires squeak loudly at 5 miles per hour, handling when cornering not precise, some interior plastic cheap for a 50k car.

2023 Toyota RAV4 Prime review
We had a totally electric Mustang Mach E which we traded for this car since the range and infrastructure both were not ideal. The Toyota RAV4 Prime is the best of both worlds since it is a plug-in hybrid and is the car I should have purchased originally. It gets between 44 - 50 miles on totally electric charge (for around home) and about 500 miles on a fill up of the gas tank (hybrid used on the highway). Pricing was NOT ideal as they added a "Market Adjustment" to the price so it was above MSRP.

2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime review
The RAV4 Prime is a hybrid-electric vehicle with a bigger battery than the hybrid-electric version of the RAV4. It has Lots of power, all-wheel drive, decent handling along with versatile utility of the compact SUV. This is not an electric vehicle in that the gas engine will operate under certain conditions even though the 'electric mode' has been selected. That said, gasoline usage is reduced if 'electric mode' is used exclusively and the trip distance is less than 35 or 40 miles. My suggestion for Toyota (and anyone else building a "plug-in hybrid") is to increase the battery capacity to 60 miles of electric range. The range-extended electric 2nd Generation Chevy VOLT will deliver around 52 miles of electric range depending on driving and weather conditions and will nearly eliminate gasoline usage for most people. The VOLT electric-drive system is different from the TOYOTA hybrid-drive system. The VOLT will operate as an electric-drive vehicle until either the battery is depleted or the driver selects the "Hold" mode. The car then operates as a gasoline-hybrid-drive and reserves the battery charge for later use as a full-electric drive vehicle. The result of these two different drive systems is that the RAV4 Prime has given us an overall of 100 MPG verses the Gen2 VOLT of 164 MPG. Both have saved considerable gasoline. We recharge regularly at home on Level 1 or Level 2 and almost never 'top-off' at public charging sites. Both have been excellent vehicles with the RAV4 giving more carrying capacity with the trade off of requiring more fuel.

2024 Toyota RAV4 Prime review
If you want a RAV4, get the plug-in hybrid. The larger electric motor delivers much better acceleration than the standard hybrid. The infotainment system is a bit erratic and it is sometimes necessary to fiddle with it to get the radio to play. The mechanical systems are top-notch, fit and finish are good, and the car is pleasurable to drive. Electric driving range is up to 45 miles, depending on outdoor temperature. The 120 volt charging works well, but takes up to 12 hours for a full charge. If your car does not sit that long, you will want a fast charger.

2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime review
Love this vehicle! I am a older person and really enjoy the features that the RAV4 offers to senior citizens. The ease of driving and parking is a dream with the rear camera screen. NO room for accidents with back up parking. Love the feature of fuel monitoring especially at a stop light it will shut down to conserve fuel and the minute you step on the gas it with take over. I'm all about saving gas!! Tail gate is another fabulous feature, as I am very short and love that it lifts and closes with no assistance. This is my 3rd RAV4 I have owned, by far the best 2022.

2024 Toyota RAV4 Prime review
I purchased my RAV4 prime plug in a few weeks ago and I couldn’t be happier! The EV range is just enough to get me to work and back and the hybrid engine seems to sip gas. The seats are comfortable and I don’t feel like I’m sitting too high or too low. The features are intuitive and I don’t get frustrated trying to find a feature.

2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime review
We bought this car after studying the market for a while and were told that there would be a 3-36 month wait for one that we wanted to be available. Then after giving them a deposit, in a couple of weeks a show car from the local auto show became avaialble. It was exactly what we wanted, and has been a blast to drive and ride in, and with the plug-in hybrid, sinfully inexpensive to operate. I am a driver and I drive for a living I go through cars a lot. Jessie at Toyota in West Covina on Azusa and Manny who does all the paperwork finance me and put me in a car so that I can be a driver and continue my job. I was in distress mentally emotionally physically and spiritually and confused but Jesse knew how to help me in my crisis and put me in a brand new car Prius 2023 I feel brand new mentally mostly physically and spiritually because now I'm able to function and work for doordash Uber eats Walmart and that's what I do for a living not only that but they provide the best maintenance for my job without Toyota I would be homeless thank you Toyota thank you Manny thank you Jesse and my review is no longer five star it's 10 star 20 star top star so for those that are out there that are desperate need try Toyota at West Covina off of Azusa right off the 10 freeway this is the spot come see Jesse and Jesse will hook you up with Manny and the crew and this crew right here they treat us with high respect and they understand our situations like I said whoever reads this review I hope they take to heart the situation I have no special interest except trying to survive out here in this economical structure and it is difficult out here to survive without the tools I need and Toyota provides that if I get broken down I got roadside assistance in my car breaks down it's fixed in in automotive whatever I need for that car and for my job to get it done Toyota's got me and that's what I need there's my support team thank you Toyota and all the reviewers please take heed 😎😀
2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime review
It's got great power and sleek design. Comfortable interior and best of all gets around 100 mpg. Comes with a regular plug in charger, takes 12 hours but can buy and have a 240V plug installed for faster charging if needed. When the charge runs out the engine kicks in smoothly you can barely notice!
