We were looking for a vehicle for our ranch, where the roads can be rough after rain. After consulting with the manager, we looked at several options and decided on the Ford. It is a roomy vehicle at a good price that fits our needs perfectly.

GTI's do almost everything well. Economy, performance, flexibility, holds value, road car, back roads car, safety, comfort, feature-laden and now almost $10K less than the price of the average new vehicle. Two minor flaws IMO. All GTI's should have Golf R climate controls. Standard controls too confusing and fussy. Rather set it and forgot it. DSG is "still funky after all these years." Don't get me wrong, the lightning quick shifts and in-traffic ease are compelling, but DSGs can be clunky and feel strange at low speed and can't yet read all of your intentions correctly, thus some odd decisions/shifts on occasion. Not a fault, just a thing. Otherwise brilliant. GTI is among the contenders for "best" mass-produced combustion engine car of all time. Yes, that good. If shopping the used market, I would strongly suggest one try to get a Performance Package car. Much better brakes that won't need brake service as often and stop better. Also, the electronically controlled differential aids both traction and handling.

Volkswagen did a great job refining the MK8 GTI. Key points -One of the best handling FWD cars mainly due to the LSD, XDS and suspension refinement. -Very smooth power deliver almost 0 turbo lag. - 40th anniversary has to be the best value purchase as it comes standard with DCC and IQ lightings which are only available on the highest trim. The negatives include: -The infotainment can be improved wireless android and apple car play need to be standard. Can't set your phone properly on the wireless charger when the phone is attached to the wire. - Compared to the MK7 the coin holder and the sliding storage below the driver sear is missing. -Unable to disable auto start and stop feature permanently as restores to default on every time you start the vehicle.

I recently bought a used 2016 Golf from the local VW car lot. It had previously been leased, had approx. 21,000 km and was in like-new condition. I was on the market for a newer hatchback (my last car was a 2006 Mazda 3 Sport) with more "bells and whistles". I narrowed it down to a newer Mazda 3 Sport and a VW Golf and chose the Golf because of its more streamlined, compact shape. The Golf has a shorter front end which I like the look of plus it makes it even easier to park. So far, I'm absolutely loving my new car and look forward to driving it every day!

Short Story: These guys are the real deal and exemplify what used car dealerships should be. Long Story: Myself (fellow salesman 7+ years) and my father (mechanic 30 years) are probably the most difficult customers to deal with when it comes to buying cars. Kevin and Dan "put up with us" :) and aided us throughout the entire buying process, as I was buying out of state and had been burned by used car dealers before. Yes, every dealer has some sort of "fees" (certification/documentation), but BOTH were lower than the local BMW dealership as I have both quotes in front of me as I am writing this. (In reference to the few negative reviews): If you cannot figure out that "$2,000 down" or "$2,000 trade-in" will show you a different sales price than the bottom line of the vehicle, y'all need to do more homework. My 2020 Subaru Outback, purchased at Glanzmann (10-20-20) was in the Service dept. for repairs from 4-24-23 to 6-16-23. When I finally got it back it had barely 1/4 tank of gas in it & a cover to a compartment below the dashboard had not been replaced & was sitting on the front seat instead. I. E. Buckman It had

I bought my golf new at the end of 2016 and would have kept it much longer if it had not been totaled in an accident. The few little issues I had were covered under the initial warranty (coolant leak, trunk leak). Nothing else other than normal maintenance things like brakes and tires up to 81,000 - that's as far as I can speak to. I took good care of it, did the VW service things for the most part and I have no doubt it would have lasted to 200K or beyond. It looked cool and was fun to drive. I had the S manual. I enjoy driving and had a tiny regret about not getting the Wolfsburg edition (faster engine, slightly better options like heated seats and sun/moon roof).

Enjoy everything about this car except the terrible ride. Overall spring-rate is great for the track but not a normal street or highway. Looks cool but rattles your eyeballs even when driven gently. We've owned 3 GTIs since '87 and enjoyed all except for this ride issue. It also causes the sunroof screen to vibrate open as you drive.

Bought used golf R at 100k miles. Currently needs new struts dcc (3000), water pump 3rd time (2500), and walnut blasting (500). Maintenance is not cheap on these cars and they have known repeated issues(water pump). I have the DSG stage 1 car is wicked fast. Like embarrass a mustang 5.0 hang with and m5/m3, gap an sti or focus rs. Seriously one of the quickest cars out there in a straight line. But has no soul,interior is Uber quiet (can’t hear exhaust), dsg is great for up shifts but has a definite lag on downshifts. Suspension is awful especially with 19’s crashes and booms over everything passengers will jump, not good for daily driving on anything but the best roads. Brakes are phenomenal along with pedal feel and honestly will stop on a dime. It’s not true and as it is FWD until slip is detected but it rips. In my opinion even though it is way faster,brakes better, fender audio best I’ve heard, the Wrx is way more fun ! If you are ready for expensive repair bills and checking your fluids all the time buy a VW.

Excellent performance, good practicality, comfortable enough to daily drive and it doesn’t call attention to itself like Mustang GT, Civic Type R, etc….nice under the radar vehicle.

Being an out of state buyer makes buying a new (to me) car slightly trickier, and I will say that Dave and crew at Peruzzi Toyota did a more than fantastic job! This may be influenced by the fact that I hated my last car (chevy sonic), but I love my pre-owned Golf. It’s a Wolfsburg edition— which I understand to mean it just has more bells and whistles than usual. The engine is exceptionally quiet and it drives so smoothly, and accelerating is especially easy and quick. I’m a huge fan of the cargo space as well. The only downside is the minimal leg room in the back seat, but I’m not usually driving with multiple passengers so it’s not a big problem for me.
