The engineering and design are outstanding . The driving experience is very special for this price range. It’s real fun to drive. It’s an icon. Let down by quality issues unknown to Japanese vehicles and ridiculous service and repair costs. I love the car but dread any encounter with the dealer in North Tampa.. I think their service charges are equal to BMW and Mercedes.

this car is amazing for the price point its currently sitting at, coilovers and new tires and you can hit corners at 80mph. pretty decent gas milage too

The car meets a perfect speed standard for specific drivers, if you want power when you need to pass somebody or just got a nice long road you want to open it up on, you can do it, very well if I must say, the 2.0t is a amazing motor overall, so many different things you can do with it power wise, just overall a great balance car, butttt your back seat is not the best in a 2 door, which is what I have lol, oh well

I recently bought a used 2016 Golf from the local VW car lot. It had previously been leased, had approx. 21,000 km and was in like-new condition. I was on the market for a newer hatchback (my last car was a 2006 Mazda 3 Sport) with more "bells and whistles". I narrowed it down to a newer Mazda 3 Sport and a VW Golf and chose the Golf because of its more streamlined, compact shape. The Golf has a shorter front end which I like the look of plus it makes it even easier to park. So far, I'm absolutely loving my new car and look forward to driving it every day!

Just bought a pre-owned 2014 VW Golf and I couldn’t be happier! This thing is FUN to drive - I never understood when people said a car “hugged the road” or felt “sporty” - well now I do! This little thing feels solid, has excellent acceleration, and ia getting great gas mileage. So glad I ditched my expensive SUV. My “downgrade” feels like an “upgrade.”

I bought my candy white one used in Atlanta drove it back to Pittsburgh . I fell in love with the car after 10 miles it felt like I owned it for 10 years. Very utilitarian car and fun as well . I actually get around 27 to 28 on a trip at 70 mph . It has it all , power , luxury, handling and blends in with traffic . The vr6 exhaust note is music . I would buy another.

i love this car, mine is the tornado red and i have put machined gold rims on it with a slightly wider tire for more road grip. i definitely recommend wider tires on this as the stockies just do not hold the road like a wider thick tire (and it looks awesome so). i have had to replace the heater blower motor resistor, easy fix took about 30 mins and the piece is 20 bucks. i also had a kick in the gut with the notoriously bad water pumps on these cars. it took a few hours, some special tools, a lot of patience, and $400 for the pump. if you buy this car beware you will have to replace the water pump at around 100k they just were not quality stock so they get broken seals and what not. you can still drive it with a bad water pump, i don't recommend, but be prepared to put coolant in it like gas as it will just keep leaking out. enough with the bad, i gave this car a high review for a reason, smoothest ride i have ever had, steers like a boss--i mean seriously no car holds curves like this one, the interior is unmatched it is so beautiful and the plain seats are unique and give great back support. i hate that the center console lacks so much storage but it has a decent sized dash to make up for it. overall this car has insane performance, holds value, and has a unique and unmatched overall look on the inside and outside. do not hesitate to buy this, the only downside is the water pump.

Had mine since new 88,000 fun miles on it. superby reliable. Fantastic handling, comfort for long long long drive 6 hours, and great MPG...super quick, it really does everything excellently. Out of 17+ VWs since 1987 this is the best one yet...fun personified, tracks at speed perfectly, solid grip in all weather conditions. Solid, tight, really well done car. Interior layout is ergonomic excellence. of course 6 speed manual, it's best, control and in connection with the drive.

I have owned this 2016 Golf R manual since December, 2015. My previous car was a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3, a great hot hatch in it's own right. Right away I knew I had to tune the Golf R to make it feel faster than the Speed 3. APR Stage 1 accomplished that in spades. Not satisfied, I went Stage 2 which made the car absolutely bonkers (I did have to upgrade the clutch to a Southbend Stage 3 racing clutch). I have had three years on the Stage 2 and have had zero problems with it. Unrelated issues have included rear differential oil leak, window switch modulation, and misfiring due to bad plugs and coils. All except the latter were fixed under warranty. There is also a problem with the backlighting of the speedo/tach/fuel/coolant temp gauge that hasn't been fixed but other displays are fine. The car at just under 54K miles remains a blast to drive and very easy to live with.

Great service...seamless! Salesperson (Linda Pesantez) was very professional, attentive and forthcoming/transparent while tending to our needs. It helped too that my fiancé and I knew exactly what we wanted as far as choice of vehicle. We should note here that there seems to be a "homey" feel to the ambiance. We didn't feel pressured in the least and the entire purchase process lasted approximately 2 hours or a tad over. Based on our experience, we highly recommend Mahwah Honda for your next vehicle purchase. I purchased the 2020 MK7.5. I have been driving it for close to 12 months. There was minor niggles such as a blown fuse, the hlove box hinge detaching, right side mirror needing replacing because of a non functioning blind spot light. Other than that I had no reliability issues....Yet. Yes... The car is quick but not super quick, as some have stated but instead some what boring, because hardly anyone will take it on at the lights. lol It is compfortable and quality is good. You get a lot of car, hence the price. Still fahr more affordable than an Audi S3 with less power. Adding a a cutback sport system that utilises the oem flaps and an APR stage 1 ECU and DSG tube made this car even more enjoyable. Given all that, the fuel economy remained the same. I would not hesitate recommending the MK7.5 over the previous Golf R and even the MK 8. I think it is the better car out of all of them.
