My husband & I, both in our mid-seventies, recently purchased a 2025 Mini Cooper. Its technology systems are far, far more sophisticated than what was available on the 2016 Mini we traded in. When we saw that a software update was available we tried to figure out how to go about accomplishing that update, but found outselves stuck. We knew that if we headed to Mini of Montgomery we’d get some help with the update. We were lucky enough to be graciously & skillfully assisted by Jay Duck. We bought a used 2019 a month ago. I wasn't aware of these. As I researched a replacement for my wife's GMC Terrain, I learned about all of the bad CVT transmissions and oil burning engines in that class. Happened on a used Alltrack for sale at a dealer and as I researched the dsg transmission and looked up reviews - I was pretty excited by what I read. We have taken in on one 6-hour trip through the mountains and several 3-hour family visits. I love driving it. Probably my favorite car I have driven other than my old 2000 Volvo S70. It seems to be very well built. It is insanely quiet on the road and it has great acceleration. We travel with two kids and two dogs and it zips right up mountain passes, rarely cracking 3k rpm. I wish we had about 2 more inches in the trunk for our kennel, but it is a large space. I am anxious to try the AWD in some Montana snow this winter. Sadly its my wife's driver, but I get to drive it on trip!

Love this car. It’s drives well. I have owned for two years and it’s very reliable and affordable to maintain. It’s always fun to drive. Great cargo room. Great stereo and audio features. Great gas mileage. I really really love it. Best car ever. I have had outback’s, Prius, accords, civics, and carollos and this car is the best. So happy with it. I am waiting for a new fresher model to come out but not in a rush.

I drove a Golf TSI for years and absolutely loved it. Never wanted drive a different car as long as Iived. Then I had a kid(which is is tight with a golf) and someone pulled out in front of me and it got totalled. I took the money and upgraded to the Alltrack because its basically the same car with more room and AWD. Absolutely love it! Gas mileage is significantly lower than my Golf, but it still has some zip. The DSG transmission is like butter. Ill drive this car into the ground.

We are unabashed fans of station wagons built on sport sedan platforms, and we are distressed to see this best-of-all-worlds configuration disappearing from the US market, even though it remains deservedly popular in Europe. We bought a 2016 Sportwagen one year ago; our other car is a 2001 VW Passat wagon, which we plan to keep running as long as we reasonably can. The Sportwagen excels on fuel efficiency, handles very well, and offers more-than-adequate performance. Although it is almost as large outside as the Passat, it offers noticeably less usable cargo volume, albeit still sufficient for most purposes. Sideward and rearward visibility are better than average, but no match for the Passat wagon, which is almost unbeatable in this category. Styling is elegantly clean, simple, and timeless. We have had no problems yet, and we happily note that the engine has a generous 6 qt. oil capacity, versus the Passat's 3.7 qts., which I expand to 4.25 by using an oversized Mann oil filter. The larger oil capacity should reduce the incidence of infamous oil "sludge" (technically, baked-on coke). German cars offer a superb driving experience, but they need to be maintained fastidiously; they do not thrive on neglect the way a Toyota might.

We have owned a few of these Passats from the 2001 -2005 body style. If you take care of it and wash it during the winter these cars do not rust. Very comfortable interior and I love how it drives. I have the V6 engine and I been told by many that the engine is bulletproof, but you do have to follow the service schedule. Some repairs are expensive, but long term it's worth it. I have the 4 motion 2005 model and it handles beautifully in the winter. We also still have 2003 v6 GLX and it's running great. I plan on getting another 2005 GLX if I can find a low mileage one. They are reasonable pricewise and last forever.
