Stay away from Hyundai Sonatas with the 2.
Stay away from Hyundai Sonatas with the 2.4 liter engines! Oil consumption is ridiculous and can eventually lead to affecting the spark plugs. I recently traded my daughter’s 2017 Sonata SE in and it lost a lot of value because of the oil issues. The Sonata is a good looking and driving car, but oil consumption issue is widespread and can get become dangerous if you’re not checking your oil level monthly. I bought ours used, but others have stated that oil consumption is noticeable when the mileage starts adding up over 50-60,000 miles. Maybe try the newer Sonatas with the 2.5 liter engines.

I bought a used 2019 Hyundai Sonata in June of 2023 and I have had to add oil twice a week it burns through oil as fast as gas. I have spent money I don’t have buying oil by the gallon.

Great used car
I bought my car as used from the dealer. I have had no issues so far with it. The radio and heater work better than my old Toyota Corolla.
