Great car except when something needs repaired
This car is very comfortable, has all the amenities and looks great; however, if anything needs repaired or serviced, most local shops are unable to do the work. Best option is going to a location that works with foreign and luxury vehicles on a regular basis. - Purchased a Used car

Luxury car with great vehicle performance. Great price. Ready to sell. High-end features with the xDrive to include heated steering wheel, rain sensor wipers, voice activation, navigation system with multiple map views, and electric in and out side view mirrors just to name a few. It's a great car, but....
I have the 535i X-drive in the Sport package with 126k miles on it. So far, it's been a great car. A quiet highway cruiser with the most comfortable seats one can only imagine (Multi-Contour). With that being said, I was/am highly disappointed with the number of dealership visits and the amount of services needed for this vehicle. Keep in mind, I am coming from a 2004 ES330 that lasted for 315k miles with not a lot of "recommended/required" services at the same mileage interval. I will list all of the services I've done so far and the ones that still need to be completed below: Services/Repairs Completed: - Oil Housing Filter Gasket/Cooler Seals - Belt Tensioner/Idler Pulleys/Serpentine Belt - Cooling System serviced/hoses replaced - Transmission Fluid (drain and fill) - Thrust Arm Bushings - Driveshaft Flex Joint - Front right Axle Boot Services/Repairs Needed: - Valve Cover Gasket - Engine Oil Pan/Gasket - Rear Diff Pinion Seal - Front Driveshaft - Rear Subframe Bushing - Fuel Pressure Sensor - Front Tire Rods (outer) (all of the above totals over $7k) A part of me wishes I would have stayed with Toyota/Lexus, but I wanted to try a more sporty brand that (I thought) had similar reliability. Consequently, this will be my first and last BMW. Kudos to those who have not had these issues with their 535i's. - Purchased a Used car

Near perfect
As with every BMW I have owned this 535i is a rear drive only with a 6spd manual (yes 3 pedals). I have owned it for the last 7 years and have 240,000km (160,000 miles) on it and drive it all year round (fun in the snow too!). It is fast, comfortable and efficient not to mention really good looking. I have only changed the brakes only once and it is easy on tires unlike my other bimmers. The car had a freak break in the gearbox which was a $9000 repair (I had everything else done since the tranny was out, clutch etc) at 200,000km. Other than an i-drive computer glitch and a high pressure fuel pump the car has been flawless and well worth the money as I paid just over half its original price at 1.5 years old with 35,000 km on it. Highly recommend this car - just like my 2001 530i, I plan to drive it to 500,000km. - Purchased a Used car
