I LOVED my fully loaded, 2017 Ford Explorer ( Limited 3.
I LOVED my fully loaded, 2017 Ford Explorer ( Limited 3.0 eco boost turbo charger,) until the engine went out at only 65,103 miles. REPEAT, IT ONLY HAD 65, 103 miles on it!!! And most of those miles were accumulated in the southern flat lands of Mississippi. I am still absolutely sick about it! It only had 13,000 miles on it when I purchased it and I babied it. I will NEVER purchase another Ford again. - Purchased a Used car

To many recalls and Ford don't have the parts for the recalls. All the material on my windshield is wearing out. The trim is loose. I took my truck to Ford 3 months ago. Still don't have the parts. The top rail has falling off, which is on recall but since it's been fix before. They say Ford want redo it. Smh it's just a lot - Purchased a Used car

Bought this car in 2019 as my daily driver.
Bought this car in 2019 as my daily driver. It has enough space to transport my large and was very reliable until about 160,000 miles. Gasket seal and O2 sensors failed causing me $800 in repairs. Not super expensive, but like the previous review says check to see if there are any open recalls. Currently at 230,000 miles and still driving. If you follow the suggested maintenance schedule you'll be fine. If not, you'll be in for some trouble. - Purchased a Used car

Transmission problem
I have owned Toyota and Honda vehicles for years. I love the space and comfort of my Ford Explorer. However I'm at 68k miles and just had to have my transmission rebuilt. If I didn't love the comfort and ride of this vehicle so much, I would trade it in tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed and praying this vehicle will hold out to 200k miles. - Purchased a Used car

Explorers are great
I have had several Explorers all have been great vehicles. My newest is only a couple years old. I also still have a great running 26 year old with almost 200k miles. Never had a big or expensive problem with either. I can say the same for the BMWs, Mercedes and Infinity’s I have owned…Once these expensive vehicles warranty expired everything but their engine seemed to fall apart. My Fords are reliable and never break down (knock on wood) Not flashy like the imports but solid. - Purchased a New car

Unhappy with Fords
Love everything about this car (bells and whistles, comfort, smooth ride, quite cabin), but..... I purchased this used 3 years ago and in those 3 years it's been in the shop more than I can count. Thankfully I also purchased the Platinum extended warranty. Exhaust flex pipe, right rear wheel bearing (twice), right rear knuckle and bushings. Now told I need a whole new rear end. I don't even put on 5,000 miles in a year as I work from home and drive it very little. I would definitely advise on getting some sort of extended warranty if you really want this vehicle. - Purchased a Used car

The truth about the 2017 explore.
I have had more problems with this vehicle than any of my other vehicles. My 2017 explorer has had 9 recalls that I was notified of. And had to bring it back to the dealership to be repaired. That leaves me without my car quite often. Also, there is rust all over it. I purchased a new and within the first year, there was rust on my hood. Which is unusual because I park it in the garage. Very disappointed in the 2017 Ford explore. I owned three Ford explores before the 2017. They were all great vehicles. That is why I am so disappointed in this particular year.!!!!! - Purchased a New car

Never would buy Ford again
Bought this car NEW in 2017. Only 5 years old. We have put more money into it. Between breaks the first year. The faux pipe going. Now the transmission needs to be done. How much is this going to cost. NEVER again with a Ford. This is too much. Back to old reliable Toyota - Purchased a New car

Best SUV
Probably the best SUV my wife and I have owned and we’ve had many different makes and models since 1992. The styling must be good because a lot of other SUV’s are copying it. - Purchased a New car
