My Ford Edge was a nice running vehicle it showed no signs of a bad water pump, I don’t know how long I had driven the car before I noticed I had no coolant in my radiator after pouring I don’t know how many gallons of coolant in the radiator it still showed no signs of coolant on the ground nothing. I took the vehicle to the dealership in town Northgate Ford and I was told the coolant was going into my engine and my engine was about to seize. So now I sit with a vehicle that looks like a brand new car and not only can I not drive it I still owe on it. I don’t understand the logic of a waterpump that causes the coolant to backup in the engine gumming it all up and it shows no signs of there being any problems. I love Ford vehicles but I’ll never buy another Edge.

2nd owner car has 243k mi.

2nd owner car has 243k mi. on it, mostly highway. Change oil every 5k mi. no oil leaks, no major issues. I replace two sensors approx. $250 ea. time. At 100k mi. I did a tune up and transmission flush. Other than that, regular oil changes and new tires, etc. Vehicle passed emmissions and runs great. I would take it on a trip tomorrow without a problem.

Ford edge poorly designed engine

Owns this car

After 150 thousand miles you need to put a water pump in it which is a major and expensive job because the water pump is in the engine, when the pump seals go out the oil pan fills up with water and ruins the engine , terrible design
