(upbeat music) Hi, I'm Joe Wiesenfelder, from Cars.com. I'm at the Detroit Auto Show right now, with the F-150 pickup truck from Ford. You'll notice the big, bulging Ford badge.
It's not just for look, it's because the backup camera is down here, the backup camera is an option. What's important to know about this is, it's not dependent on a navigation system, you can now get it as a standalone option for just over 400 bucks. It's a lot better than paying 2000 for a navigation system, just so you can see what's behind you. Another option, our Ford-branded, secure toolboxes that mount on the inside of the cargo bed. They're obviously lockable, water-resistant. If you have trouble reaching this, or you have trouble reaching something else in the bed, which is something owner's complained about. 2004, Ford made the box height much higher to increase the volume, unfortunately it made it harder to reach in. The new solution is this step. You click the button and you get a 10-inch high step, so you can reach inside. This is the bed extender, you've probably seen these before, but they're usually a solid piece. So they either have to be here or they have to be on the inside. But because this separates in the middle and folds, you can also have it completely out of the way. Also there's a new track system like here, like you've seen in other pickup trucks. This is the spring-loaded pin system. So it's real easy to do, you don't have to unscrew a big knurled knob or anything like that. Now another trick borrowed from the 250 is a step in the tailgate. Once you have the step down, you raise this, gives you something to hold onto. I am not gonna try this. <v Announcer>For additional information on this car or any other, go to cars.com and our blog, "Kicking Tires".
