(rock music) Cars.com auto review. Hi, I'm Mike Hanley with cars.com and we're here at the Los Angeles auto show. Checking out a car that may look familiar to you. It's the production version of the Chevrolet Camaro convertible.
And it's finally here. It goes on sale in February, 2011 for a starting price of around $30,000. This car looks a lot like the Camaro convertible concept we've been seeing for a while, and it's a pretty sleek looking convertible, but it also looks good when the top is up. The soft top keeps the same lines as the Camaro coupe. So there's really no difference there. Chevrolet has had to make some changes to the structure of this car to help maintain the rigidity. There's a hood brace under on the strut towers and also some various other braces underneath the car. The Camaro comes with a fully powered soft top that can retract in about 20 seconds, according to Chevrolet, which is pretty quick for a power convertible top. It stows underneath this available tonneau cover. And it takes up some of the cargo space when it's down. When the tops up you have 10 cubic feet and you drop a couple of cubic feet when it's in place. To put it back up, you just have to secure it with a single latch at the windshield pillar. And then it's all set. Many of the other elements of the Camaro convertible are familiar from the Camaro coupe. It's still available with V6 or V8 power. In the interior is also much the same as well. But what this car is going to do is really make it more appealing to buyers who want a top-down driving experience. <v Announcer>For more car related news, go to cars.com or our blog KickingTires.net.
