So, how fast are they, really? We measured zero-to-60-mph and quarter-mile acceleration along with 60-mph-to-zero braking distances at the Byron Dragway in Byron, Ill.

(car engine turns over) We're at the Byron Drag way outside Chicago for the cars.com motor week performance coupe challenge. Our contestants are the BMW M 4 the Cadillac ATS V and the Lexus RCF.
We're going to determine which is the quickest to 60 miles per hour and the fastest in the quarter mile. Let's see how they do. In first place was the BMW M four, even with its low horsepower rating relative to the others, it's lightweight help it hit 60 miles per hour in 3.97 seconds. And the quarter mile at 12.1 seconds at 118.4 miles per hour in second place was the Cadillac ATSV. Is it zero to 60 in 4.32 seconds. Even with a manual transmission. The quarter mile time was 12.4 seconds at 115.6 miles per hour. And in third place was the Lexus RCF. It was not able to overcome its heavier weight and lower torque rating. It did 0 to 60 in 4.88 seconds. And the quarter mile in 13.1 seconds at 109.1 miles per hour. For more details on our testing and the complete results go to cars.com. (trunk slams)
