Lexus wowed the crowd at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit with its curvy, dramatic 2017 LC 500 coupe. The production version stayed fairly true to the stunning concept that debuted in Detroit a couple years ago.

(Car Starting) Lexus took the wraps off its wildest looking car since the LFA with this, the swoopy new LC 500. The LC 500 is based on the L.C.L.F. concept cars shown at the auto show a few years back, and it's just fascinating to look at here.
You've got cool things like this lighting element that snakes up into the actual headlight itself, and a very three-dimensional take here on Lexus's familiar spindle grill. Comes all the way down as it wraps around, really kind of draws you backwards. As you come around the side of the car, a lot of other cool things going on. The a-pillars kind of snake up over here and disappear into this sort of black abyss behind where the c-pillars should be that create kind of a cool floating effect. Lexus's tradition of sort of a stacked dashboard design is on display inside the LC 500, but lots of, kind of exotic looking materials here. Lots of stitched surfaces, seats that really wrap around you in a cockpit that really envelops you here. Some cool features up here. Check out this toggle almost up here. Along the instrument panel itself appears to be able to toggle sort of drive train modes on one side and on the other side here, traction control modes. Cool stuff there. A 10 speed automatic transmission. A first for a luxury car, according to Lexus. This drives a five liter V8 shared with the GSF and the RCF. Hits 60 miles an hour in under four and a half seconds, Lexus tells us. And this may not be the only version of the LC 500. Once this car actually goes on sale. So stay tuned for more details. That happens in about a year. (Trunk Slamming)
