If you’re still humming “You’re a Grand Old Flag” after you’ve scraped the char off the barbecue grille and resumed car shopping, you’ll want to consult Cars.com’s 2020 American-Made Index to help you narrow the field of prospective purchases down to your shortlist — not only is it a comprehensive list of 91 vehicles that meet our standard to justify the boast of being “American-made” but it’s also our No. 1 most read piece of news content from all of June, unveiled in the days leading up to the Fourth of July.

Perhaps the biggest news out of this year’s index is Tesla’s strong showing in its first year of eligibility thanks to the California-based luxury electric automaker agreeing to participate this time out. Its entire lineup (currently attainable by the average car consumer, at least) made the top 10 among this year’s vastly expanded field of candidates.
