2005-2006 Dodge Viper: Recall Alert
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 3,300 model-year 2005-06 Dodge Viper sports cars
The Problem: The occupant restraint control module may inadvertently deploy the airbags and/or seat belt pretensioners. Airbags or pretensioners that unexpectedly deploy may cause injury or increase the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the ORC module for free.
What Owners Should Do: Dodge parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will begin notifying owners Jan. 31. Owners can call the automaker at 800-853-1403, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
