If you listen to the news you know GM has some problems, but it certainly looks like the company’s products are improving. The all-new 2007 GMC Acadia is the second of three new GM-built crossovers to be introduced. Today the company released a slew of photographs and technical specs for the vehicle.

A first glance at the information reveals this to interested shoppers:

  • The SUV-like crossover is built on a unibody frame instead of a truck frame, improving handling, comfort and the center of gravity as well as providing a more carlike ride.
  • It seats up to eight people, and both the second and third rows fold flat, allowing up to 117 cubic feet of cargo room.
  • The interior follows the blueprint of new full-size SUVs like the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. That’s important because they have some of the nicest interiors GM has ever made.
  • Estimated mileage for this minivan alternative is 17/25 mpg city/hwy for the front-wheel-drive model and 17/24 mpg for the all-wheel-drive model.

The Acadia will arrive late in 2006. Prices have not been announced yet, but expect a near $30,000 starting point. Click on the link below for more photos of the exterior, interior and cargo configurations.
