Vehicles Affected: Approximately 528,600 model-year 2011-13 Dodge Durango and Jeep Cherokee SUVs equipped with 3.6-liter, 5.7-liter or 6.4-liter engines and previously recalled
The Problem: The fuel pump relay inside the totally integrated power module may fail, causing the vehicle to stall without warning and increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: A remedy is still under development.
What Owners Should Do: Dodge and Jeep manufacturer Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will mail interim notices informing owners of the safety risk beginning Jan. 3, 2020; owners will receive a second notice when the final remedy becomes available, and vehicles that experience a fuel pump failure will receive an interim repair. Owners can call the automaker at 800-853-1403, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
