The Toyota RAV4 is one of the most popular compact SUVs on the market. Toyota sold more than 200,000 in 2013 after a major redesign that saw the end of the swing-out tailgate with its spare mounted tire, but what about all the cargo room it had?
Moving the spare didn’t impact cargo room negatively.
In fact, both cargo room with the second row of seats up and down increased to 38.4 and 73.4 cubic feet respectively.
As you can see in the animation above it has plenty of room to handle groceries, luggage and even bulky sports equipment.
The new RAV4 is also very competitive against the rest of the class with only the new Nissan Rogue besting it in room behind the second seats. Only the Subaru Forester tops it with the seats down.
