Vehicles Affected: Approximately 800 model-year 2016-17 Buick Envision SUVs
The Problem: An accessory NSV universal tablet holder may have been installed incorrectly onto the front-seat head restraints. This may prevent the head-restraint posts from fully engaging in the seatback, which could loosen or dislodge the head restraint, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect the head restraints and tablet holders for the correct installation, reinstalling them as necessary for free.
What Owners Should Do: Buick manufacturer GM did not immediately announce an owner-notification schedule. Owners can call Buick at 800-521-7300, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
