2020 Ford Expedition: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 120 model-year 2020 Ford Expedition SUVs

The Problem: The seat belt tension sensor may incorrectly classify a child occupant as an adult. In the event of a crash, the incorrect classification would enable the occupant airbag to deploy instead of disabling it, increasing the risk of injury.

The Fix: Dealers will replace the seat belt buckle for free.

What Owners Should Do: Ford will begin notifying owners Oct. 12. Owners can call the automaker at 866-436-7332, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
