2020 Toyota C-HR Gets Face-Lift, Android Auto
As more automakers add tiny “SUVs” without all-wheel drive to their lineups, Toyota’s quirky C-HR starts to make more sense, and updates for 2020 should only further its appeal. The SUV gets a lightly revised face, Android Auto compatibility (finally!), some additional convenience features and some new exterior colors.

In front, the 2020 C-HR wears a slightly tweaked face with a new front bumper design, and modified grille and headlight designs. LE models get standard LED headlights this year, joining the rest of the lineup. New exterior colors include Super Sonic Red, Hot Lava Orange and a new Silver R-Code roof option; the R-Code white roof has been discontinued.
LE, XLE and Limited trims return, and all now get standard Android Auto smartphone compatibility, joining the Apple CarPlay compatibility that was announced for 2019 models. An 8-inch touchscreen display is again standard on all trims. Other feature updates include new seatback pockets and windshield visor extensions on XLE models, and the top-line Limited trim gets a standard eight-way power driver’s seat, as well as an adaptive front lighting system with auto-leveling headlights.
In addition, all models get some cabin tweaks. LE and Limited trims get a gray headliner for 2020. XLE trims now offer a blue-and-black interior color combination that features quilted-fabric blue seats and blue trim on the instrument panel and center console. The Limited grade’s color option is a black-and-brown combo with silver cabin trim and a diamond perforated pattern for the seats.
For 2020, all C-HRs are still front-wheel-drive-only and come standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. All models still get the Toyota Safety Sense P suite of safety features standard, which bundles forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, automatic high beams and full-speed cruise control. Blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on XLE and Limited trims.
