2021 Acura TLX: Elevated Style, Escalated Price
When Acura redesigned its TLX sports sedan for 2021, it emphasized the “sport” part of the equation with aggressive new styling and a resurrected Type S performance variant with a new turbo V-6 engine. When the 2021 TLX goes on sale, it’ll have a new price, too: $38,525 (including a $1,025 destination charge), for the base 2.0T model — $4,500 more than the model-year 2020 base 2.4L model.

The base model comes with a new, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 272 horsepower and 280 pounds-feet of torque, increases of 66 hp and 98 pounds-feet, respectively, over the outgoing 2.4-liter four-cylinder. Front-wheel drive is standard; all-wheel drive brings the price of the 2.0T model to $40,525.
As with the outgoing model, several packages will be available on the 2.0T version: Technology, A-Spec and Advance.
The sport-oriented TLX Type S uses a new, turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6; Acura estimates it’s good for 355 hp. It comes standard with AWD and will start in the low- to mid-$50,000 range. Both engines pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The 2021 Acura TLX 2.OT model goes on sale Sept. 28; look for the Type S in the spring.
