It also now comes with an extended three-year navigation subscription, and the Luxury Package adds all-wheel steering and expands leather coverage to the dashboard and doors. Additionally, the Executive Package adds HD Matrix-design LED headlights, Valcona leather interior, heated rear seats and a head-up display.
For those opting for the sportier S8, the Extended Leather Package and platinum-gray 21-inch wheels are now standard, and the Luxury Package now includes massaging rear seats, Matrix LED rear reading lights and rear-seat remote control. The S8’s Black Optic Plus Package now adds 21-inch black wheels, and the Executive Package now gets a head-up display and heated and powered outboard rear seats.
Powertrain Specs and MPG
At the heart of the 2025 Audi A8 lineup are two engine options. The A8 L 55 TFSI is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 good for 335 horsepower and 369 pounds-feet of torque. For those looking for more exhilarating performance, the S8 comes with a 563-hp, turbo 4.0-liter V-8 with 590 pounds-feet of torque. Both are paired with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Fuel economy is competitive for the class. The A8 L boasts an EPA-rated 20/26/22 mpg city/highway/combined, while the S8 is rated 15/24/18 mpg. AWD examples of the BMW 740i, Lexus LS and Mercedes-Benz S500 are EPA-rated 24/31/27 mpg, 17/27/21 mpg and 21/31/24 mpg, respectively.

Safety Features and Trim Levels
Safety remains a priority for Audi in the 2025 A8, with both the A8 L and S8 equipped with a suite of driver-assistance tech. The A8 includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera system to aid in parking and low-speed maneuvering.
The 2025 Audi A8 and S8 both deliver luxury and cutting-edge technology, but they cater to different priorities. The A8 focuses on comfort with features like Valetta leather, walnut wood inlays and a comfort adaptive air suspension, while the S8 enhances performance with sportier elements like Valcona leather, carbon-fiber inlays, all-wheel steering and a sport-tuned adaptive suspension.
On the exterior, the A8 maintains a refined look with 19-inch wheels and a concealed exhaust, whereas the S8 opts for an aggressive design with 20-inch graphite-gray wheels, quad exhaust outlets and dual-pane acoustic glass for reduced noise. Inside, both models feature a Bang & Olufsen sound system and 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display, though the S8’s interior also includes massaging front seats.
