Less than a month after issuing its last major safety guidance for child safety locks, Ford is recalling the 2022 Bronco SUV again, this time along with the 2022 Ranger pickup truck, for a separate issue that’s dangerous to both children and adults: a windshield that may detach.
Nearly 63,300 Broncos and Rangers are affected. The windshield may not have been properly bonded to the vehicle, which could allow it to detach during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Dealers will remove and reinstall the windshield for free. Ford will begin notifying owners July 11, but those with further questions in the meantime can call the automaker at 866-436-7332 (Ford’s number for this recall is 22C12), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
