The latest recall from Ford involves more than 72,600 of its Expedition SUVs and F-Series Super Duty trucks, as well as the Corsair SUV from its Lincoln luxury arm, and the culprit is not an uncommon one: the backup camera.
Affected vehicles include model-year 2021 Expeditions; model-year 2021-22 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 and F-600 trucks; and model-year 2020-22 Corsairs. The rearview camera may display a blank or distorted image, which can reduce the driver’s view of what’s behind, increasing the risk of a crash.
There’s no remedy yet, but Ford will notify owners Feb. 17. Those with further questions can contact the automaker at 866-436-7332 (Ford’s number for this recall is 25S05), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
