Of Mazda’s three most recent recalls, the most substantial involves the automaker’s relatively new CX-90 three-row SUV and freshly new CX-70 two-row SUV. Nearly 81,000 vehicles are affected by a software glitch that impacts the instrument panel and certain functions.

Affected examples include model-year 2024-25 CX-90s and model-year 2025 CX-70s equipped with a dash electrical supply unit. During startup, the defroster, seat belt warning and 360-degree camera system functions, as well as the plug-in hybrid high-voltage battery-cooling system, may not function properly. All such malfunctions can increase the risk of a crash.

To fix the issue, dealers will reprogram the dash ESU with improved software for free. Mazda will begin notifying owners Dec. 30; in the meantime, owners can call the automaker at 800-222-5500, option 6 (Mazda’s number for this recall is 7124J), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
