Hyundai luxury brand Genesis had a quiet 2025, with just one major recall affecting the instrument panel display in around 32,500 vehicles. Almost a year later, more than 83,800 vehicles are being recalled over a similar issue with the display.

Affected vehicles include the following and their corresponding model years:

  • 2025-26 G80 sedans and GV80 SUVs
  • 2026 Electrified G80 sedans and GV60, GV70 and Electrified GV70 SUVs

A software error may cause the instrument panel display to fail, preventing the driver from viewing critical information (e.g., the speedometer or fuel gauge) and increasing the risk of a crash.

Owners are advised to display the high-definition radio feature until the remedy is performed. The audio-video navigation software can be updated by a dealer or an over-the-air update for free. Owners will be notified March 16, but those with further questions can contact Genesis customer service at 844-340-9741 (Hyundai’s number for this recall is 031G), NHTSA’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
