BMW Can Keep This 1 Series Hatchback
Over the weekend, BMW unveiled the next-generation 1 Series hatchbacks, again not destined for the U.S.
Good.
The profile and rear are fine; it is the design of the front end that stirs gag reflexes. Huge headlights overwhelm the entire front half of the car, diminishing the impact of the trademark kidney grille.
The bulging hood, too, seems a misstep, and we don’t know if this is slightly better or worse than the much-maligned 550 GT. Check out more photos below, and let us know if you think we’re completely off-base or that North America is lucky to be off this car’s radar.
