When Tesla’s redesigned 2026 Model Y SUV went on sale earlier this spring, only the top Launch Series trim was available. Since then, a regular Long-Range All-Wheel Drive variant hit the lineup, and today Tesla opened orders for a cheaper Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive trim.
The new entry-level trim starts at $46,380 including destination but excluding any applicable tax credits — less than the Long-Range AWD’s $50,380 base price. The RWD version shares the same upgrades the AWD variant got, including a revised face, lower noise levels in the cabin, improved ride comfort and greater efficiency.
Tesla says the Model Y Long-Range RWD offers 357 miles of range, 30 miles more than the AWD version. It’s a little slower, however, with a 0-60 mph time of 5.4 seconds instead of the AWD’s 4.6 seconds.
The automaker said deliveries will begin in three to five weeks. The automaker also launched a 1.99% financing deal on Long-Range AWD models purchased after May 2, 2025, with a minimum down payment of 15%.
