Affected vehicles include model-year 2018-24 Expeditions. The chrome plating on the center console of these vehicles may bubble and peel, resulting in sharp edges that may increase the risk of injury.
To resolve the issue, dealers will inspect and replace the center consoles, as necessary, for free. Interim letters notifying owners of the issue are expected to be mailed June 29; additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, which Ford expects will be in January 2027. Those with further questions can contact the automaker at 866-436-7332 (Ford’s designation for this recall is 26S38), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
