Affected vehicles include model-year 2022 Cadillac Escalades and Escalade ESVs; Chevrolet Tahoes and Suburbans; and GMC Yukons and Yukon XLs, all equipped with 10-speed automatic transmissions with electronic transmission range select. The transmission control valve in affected vehicles may fail and lock up the rear wheels, increasing the risk of a crash.
As a fix, dealers will install new transmission control module software for free. GM will begin notifying owners March 30, but those with further questions in the meantime can contact GM customer service at 888-988-7267, Cadillac customer service at 800-458-8006, GMC customer service at 800-462-8782 or Chevrolet customer service at 800-222-1020 (GM’s number for this recall is N252536750). Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
