How Much Is a 2025 Ram 1500?

For 2025, Ram updated the styling and traded the famous (and famously thirsty) Hemi V-8 engines for a pair of twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-sixes in its bread-and-butter 1500 pickup truck. However, the base drivetrain is still the mild-hybrid 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6, and the subtle exterior tweaks mean some shoppers will be hard-pressed to spot the differences between the 2024 and ‘25 trucks. They look nearly the same to buyers’ bank accounts, too: The 2025 Ram 1500 starts just $855 higher than the 2024 model at $42,270.

At the top of the line, the new Tungsten trim is more than $20,000 pricier than the former range-topping Limited trim, but it also includes much more standard equipment, including heated and ventilated leather seats for the front and rear, 24-way power massaging front seats, and a 23-speaker Klipsch audio system.

All have four doors, either a Quad Cab with smaller rear doors or a crew cab with full-size aft portals. Only the three most affordable trim levels can be had with the Quad Cab; the rest of the lineup is only available with the larger crew cab.

Buyers can also choose between two bed lengths: 5 feet, 7 inches or 6 feet, 4 inches. The Quad Cab is only offered with the longer box, while the Warlock, Rebel, RHO and Tungsten are only available in the crew-cab/short-bed combo. If you’re keeping track and need to carry both tall passengers and long loads, the crew-cab-with-long-box configuration is available in the Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Limited and Limited Long Horn.

Powertrain Specs and MPG

The Pentastar mild-hybrid V-6 is standard in the Tradesman and Big Horn, making 305 horsepower and 271 pounds-feet of torque. While the Pentastar’s power is comparable to competitors’ base engines — the Chevrolet Silverado 1500’s turbo 2.7-liter four-cylinder makes 310 hp and the Ford F-150’s twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 puts out 325 hp — its torque output pales in comparison. The Silverado’s base engine boasts 430 pounds-feet of twist, the Ford an even 400.

Ram calls its new twin-turbo 3.0-liter SST, for Straight-Six Turbo. In standard form, the SST generates 420 hp and 469 pounds-feet of torque, 25 more hp and 59 more pounds-feet than Ram’s old 5.7-liter V-8. It’s standard in the Laramie and Rebel and optional in the Tradesman and Big Horn.

The high-output SST is standard in the Limited, Limited Longhorn, RHO and Tungsten, but it can’t be optioned in any other trim level. It still displaces 3.0 liters, but Ram cranks output up to 540 hp and 521 pounds-feet. Not only is that more power and torque than the 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 in the heavy-duty Ram 2500 and 3500, it’s 55 hp and 46 pounds-feet more than the high-output 6.4-liter Dodge installed in the erstwhile gas-only Challenger and Charger sedans.

Regardless of which engine powers them, all Ram 1500s use an eight-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard on the Tradesman, Big Horn and Laramie. Four-wheel drive costs $3,850 on all of those but the Tradesman HFE, which is RWD only; 4WD is standard on the Warlock, Rebel, RHO, Limited, Limited Longhorn and Tungsten.
