Ford is celebrating the Bronco’s 60th birthday in 2026 with the 60th Anniversary Package. Other than that, the Jeep Wrangler’s only direct competitor is little changed for the new model year. A new dual-top option is available, offering buyers both soft and hard tops, and the 10-speed automatic transmission is now available with the 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine on the Heritage Edition trim. The Stroppe Edition, more or less a Raptor without the extra power, is now only available in the four-door body style, leaving the base and Badlands trim levels as the only two Broncos available with two doors. (Both can be had with four doors for no additional cost.)

Trim Levels and Safety Features
The base 2026 Bronco is rather spartan. It rides on 16-inch steel wheels with all-season tires and includes cloth upholstery and manually adjustable front seats. It does, however, boast LED headlights, push-button start, a 12-inch digital instrument panel, a 12-inch touchscreen and seven speakers. Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard on every 2026 Bronco; the safety suite includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking and automatic high beams.
One step up, the Bronco Big Bend adds 17-inch aluminum wheels wearing all-terrain tires, tinted rear windows and access to more options.
The Heritage Edition channels the original Bronco’s capability by including the Sasquatch Package as standard; it consists of locking front and rear differentials, a lifted suspension and 17-inch wheels wrapped in 35-inch rugged-terrain rubber. The Heritage also wears white wheels, steel bumpers, a unique grille, tube steps and plaid seats. The standard Mid Package adds blind spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure steering assist, rear parking sensors, keyless entry, navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats and remote start.
The Outer Banks doesn’t get the Sasquatch Package, but it does build on the Heritage Edition with 18-inch wheels, 32-inch all-terrain tires, LED foglights and taillights, a heated steering wheel, and vinyl and leather seats that are power adjustable in front. From here on up, a more powerful engine and an automatic transmission are standard.
The 60th Anniversary Edition is based on the Outer Banks but adds a unique paint color and grille, steel bumpers, leather seats and the Sasquatch Package. It also gets the Lux Package, which includes adaptive cruise control, emergency steering assist, a 360-degree camera system, front parking sensors and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
The Badlands is where the Bronco starts to take on a more serious off-road bent. Riding on Bilstein rear shock absorbers and 17-inch wheels wearing 33-inch rugged-terrain tires, the Badlands features an upgraded four-wheel-drive system, steel front and rear bumpers, bash plates to protect the underbody from impacts, rock rails to armor the lower corners of the body, front and rear tow hooks, and prewired auxiliary switches for aftermarket accessories. It also gets rubberized flooring to facilitate easier cleaning.
Named for famed Baja racer Bill Stroppe, the Stroppe Edition comes standard with the Mid and Lux bundles, as well as the Sasquatch Package. Its unique color combination is an homage to Bill Stroppe’s racing livery and carries over inside with orange trim and stitching. Here, capability is further enhanced with an electronically disconnecting front anti-roll bar to improve traction and stability on uneven terrain.
The Raptor’s long-travel suspension, wider fenders and massive 37-inch tires don’t necessarily make it the best Bronco for tight trails, but its high-output engine gives it a decided edge over its siblings for running through the wide-open desert. Like the Stroppe Edition, the Raptor includes the Mid and Lux bundles, as well as the anti-roll bar disconnect. The Bronco Raptor forgoes the standard power-adjustable front seats but does get a heated steering wheel.

Powertrain Specs
Three different engines are available in the 2026 Bronco, as well as manual and automatic transmissions. In the base, Big Bend, Heritage Edition, Outer Banks and Badlands, a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder is standard. It makes 300 horsepower and 325 pounds-feet of torque on premium fuel (slightly less on regular) and is available with a seven-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission. A turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6 is optional in the Heritage, Outer Banks and Badlands and standard on the Stroppe Edition. It puts out 330 hp and 415 pounds-feet on premium and comes standard with the 10-speed automatic.
The Raptor is powered by an exclusive 418-hp, turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine with 440 pounds-feet of torque that is mated to a paddle-shifted 10-speed automatic.
