Recall Alert: 2014 Ford F-150

Vehicles Affected: About 4,700 2014 Ford F-150 pickup trucks, with more than 90 percent of which are in the hands of dealers or in transit. The affected vehicles were built between May 26 through June 19, 2014, at both the Dearborn, Mich., and Kansas City, Mo., assembly plants.

The Problem: The affected vehicles may have a motor-position sensor magnet in the steering gear improperly located and/or installed by the supplier. The defect could lead to impaired steering or loss of control, which could cause a crash.

The Fix: Ford will replace the steering gear free of charge.

What Owners Should Do: Ford is advising its customers to contact their local Ford dealer as soon as possible to determine if their vehicle is part of the recall.
