What Car Shoppers Need to Know

  • Tesla is offering cash-back incentives, low interest rates and lease deals on the 2026 Model Y through September.
  • Buyers can get up to $1,000 cash back or interest rates as low as 1.49%.
  • Lessees can get a Model Y for as little as $499 per month.

It’s been a big year for the Tesla Model Y. A new entry-level trim drops the base price by $6,000 for the rear-wheel-drive version of the electric vehicle and $8,000 for the all-wheel-drive model, and a long-wheelbase derivative joins the lineup with a standard third-row seat offering far more space for real humans in the wayback.

But there’s more pressure on the Model Y SUV and closely related Model 3 sedan. Now that the larger, more expensive Model S and Model X EVs have been discontinued, the brand’s former entry-level products have to account for the bulk of the sales as the Cybertuck isn’t a hit. Tesla is looking to boost sales through the end of September with cash offers, low interest rates and special lease deals on the Model Y. All deals outlined below are valid until Sept. 30.

Cash Deals

Conquest Promotion: $500

A conquest promo is a cash-back offer available to buyers who trade in a vehicle from a competitive brand. In this case, that means any gas or hybrid vehicle. The offer also includes 2,000 miles’ worth of free Supercharger public-charging access.

Special Promotion: Launch Series Model Y L Premium

Early adopters of the long-wheelbase Model Y, currently only available in loaded Launch Series Premium form, don’t get any cash back, but they do get a bundle of extras if they buy in September. Tesla’s special promotion includes one year of free Supercharging, Full Self-Driving (Supervised) and premium connectivity, as well a trailer hitch and the full palette of interior and exterior colors for no additional cost.

Percentage of MSRP in the table below is calculated based on the applicable trim level’s base price including destination. For the regular-wheelbase Model Y, that means the RWD Standard trim level at $41,380; the Launch Series Model Y L Premium starts at $63,380.

Program Type Maximum Cash Back Percentage of MSRP
Conquest promo $500 1.2%
Special promotion (Launch Series L Premium) $1,000 free charging value 1.6%

Model Y Performance and Model Y L buyers can qualify for APRs as low as 3.99% and 5.59%, respectively.
