Tesla is recalling nearly all of its Cybertrucks — more than 46,000 vehicles — over an issue with an exterior trim panel that may detach.

Affected vehicles include model-year 2024-25 Cybertrucks. The glued-on cant rail, an exterior trim piece made of stainless steel, may detach from the vehicle and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

To fix the issue, Tesla service will replace the cant rail for free. The automaker will begin notifying owners May 19, but those with further questions in the meantime can call Tesla at 877-798-3752 (Tesla’s number for this recall is SB-25-10-001), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
