What Is the 2027 Lucid Gravity GT-S?
What Car Shoppers Need to Know
- The 2027 Lucid Gravity GT-S is the brand’s most powerful SUV yet, with 1,070 horsepower.
- Every performance option from other Gravity trim levels comes standard.
- The GT-S will go on sale late this year, priced from $127,750.
When Lucid introduced the Gravity SUV, it raised a single question among a certain demographic: When does the 1,234-horsepower version come out? It would be an odd question to ask about a three-row family hauler if not for the similarities between the Gravity and the Lucid Air sedan and the fact that the sedan lineup is capped by the 1,234-hp Air Sapphire.

High Performance and Long Range
With the 2027 Gravity GT-S, it appears the answer to that question may be “never.” Lucid says the 1,070-hp GT-S is “inspired” by the Sapphire. The 3.1-second blast from 0-60 mph is likely to inspire expletives from passengers — and the driver, at least the first couple, three dozen times they mat the accelerator. For those keeping score, that’s 0.3 second quicker than Lucid’s claimed acceleration time for the 828-hp Gravity Grand Touring. But with Lucid’s industry-leading battery technology — the Air Grand Touring’s 512-mile range is greater than any other EV’s — the Gravity GT-S can still travel up to 373 miles on a charge.
Lucid didn’t just turn up the juice in the Gravity’s motors and call it a day. (Unlike the Air Sapphire, which has three motors, one powering each of the rear wheels, the Gravity GT-S has just two motors: one for the front and one for the rear.) The Dynamic Handling Package that’s optional on lesser Gravity variants is standard here. It includes a height-adjustable air suspension with adaptive dampers, as well as rear-wheel steering. While the suspension can raise to increase ground clearance, its primary purpose here is to lower the Gravity at highway speeds for improved aerodynamics. The 22-inch front and 23-inch rear wheels that are optional on other trim levels are also standard on the GT-S. Buyers can opt for 21-inch fronts and 22-inch rears for no cost.
Standard and Distinguishing Features
Beyond its mechanical features, the GT-S includes most other optional equipment from the more affordable Gravitys as standard equipment. It’s loaded up with heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, heated outboard second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, tray tables and a touchscreen for second-row passengers, a power-operated front trunk and rear liftgate, soft-close doors and more. The 22-speaker Surreal Sound Pro audio system ($3,900 on other trims) and Tech Package (a head-up display and adjustable ambient lighting; $3,200) are also included. The only features that are not standard on the Gravity GT-S are Lucid’s upgraded DreamDrive 2 Pro semi-autonomous driving suite ($6,750), a third row seat ($2,900), brown leather ($1,300) and the towing package ($950).
The availability of another interior color is another key distinction between the Air Sapphire and the Gravity GT-S. Whereas the Sapphire is only available in its namesake exterior hue with a graphite-gray interior, the GT-S can be had in nearly the Gravity’s entire exterior palette. Granted, that’s only five colors, but the GT-S is available in four of them — perhaps designers worried the Grand Touring’s exclusive Aurora Green option would clash with the GT-S’ signature blue brake calipers.
The blue accents continue in the cabin, where it gets blue stitching and piping on the seats, blue stitching on the doors and steering wheel, and blue seat belts. Thankfully, that’s only with the standard graphite-gray synthetic leather interior. Opt for Tahoe (brown) leather and you get tasteful cream-color piping and stitching.
Release Date and Pricing
The detail that makes the strongest case for this being the ultimate Gravity is on the front seats. Lucid’s signature bear logo is embossed into the GT-S’ head restraints, a detail that in the Air range is reserved for the Sapphire.
Then again, the fact that there are options in the GT-S certainly leaves the door open for a single-spec Sapphire trim — and so does its price. When the 2027 Lucid Gravity GT-S goes on sale in the fourth quarter of 2026, its price will be barely more than half of the quarter-million-dollar Air Sapphire’s: $127,750 (including destination).
Versus the Competition
The most direct competitor for the Lucid Gravity GT-S, the Tesla Model X, has been discontinued. But Lucid’s latest still doesn’t have the absurd performance family electric-vehicle market all to itself. Below are the highest-performance versions of the Gravity’s chief rivals.

| Rivian R1S Quad | $123,885 | 1,025 hp | 338 miles | AWD |
