Bought a lemon 8k in problems this past year. Not worth what we paid. Even having issues w/smog 3rd one in three years! Found a bolt our mechanic said was there to ‘mask problems’ and illegal. We think the mileage was tampered with as well. Not worth the 20k we purchased for.

lots of back & forth, w/ 1K mileage on warranty. Found what was a piece to basically help turn off sensors so it looked to be in working order. ( OUR local mechanic said we bought a lemon) everything went 'flashing' within the first mo.- sad really as buying for our 16 year old, we would have referred others purchasing cars for their kids, but not a great experience to say the least.

Asked to take a used car for an inspection with a mechanic, they said they don't allow that. A huge red flag! I pressed for the reason why, and they simply said it's a rule that they have and they won't allow it. They said if a mechanic came to the dealership and checked it at the lot that could be fine, but 95% of mechanics don't do mobile inspections and they're not as reliable. Public Wholesale Auto is the first dealership in California that doesn't let you check the car with a mechanic. ALWAYS GET A USED CAR CHECKED BY A TRUSTED MECHANIC BEFORE BUYING IT.

This review is soley about customer service. I called and asked about a car and asked him if he was willing to negotiate a little on price. I wanted to pay cash with no financing. He told me no and that lots of people were calling for the car, and that his taxes and fees would amount to be almost $1000 more on top of the price. I thought that was crazy. Then he told me I could put my full amount of cash down and we could finance the rest...how is that making a deal???? And what would be the point of that if I'm trying to give a large sum of money but still have to finance for the rest? I felt like if that were the case, I might as well go to a new car dealership. Anyways, I didn't end up going to the lot because there's no point if he's not even trying to make any kind of deal.

I was on a tight budget and havig money issues the owner "Jay" knew this and helped me find a vehicle that was good for me. I know my way around vehicles better then most and loved how good shape the vehicle was for the price he gave me and worked with me on. after my purchase the next day my vehicle blew a hose that i knew about and even i thought it was fine. Being the hinest true man that he is he offered to tow my vehicle to his shop and fixed it free of charge. And every since i have not had a single issue with my vehicle and i love it. I reccomend this place to EVERYONE! Everything said and done hes, honest and upfront with you, and hes very helpfull caring and treats his customers like family.
