When I came in, I worked with my sales representative, Diego Sanchez. He was attentive, patient, and really listened to what I wanted. He showed me great options, and once I found the vehicle I loved, he worked hard to make it happen. What stood out most was how the entire team stepped in to help. Diego, Oscar, and the finance manager, and Pati all worked together to match my aggressive request and make the numbers work. We purchased a brand-new Ford F-150 STX from AutoNation
We purchased a brand-new Ford F-150 STX from AutoNation Ford Katy and clearly declined all extended warranties and add-on products during signing. Two weeks later, when we checked our lender account, we discovered our payoff balance was nearly $45,000, even though our expected financed amount was around $36,000 after trade-in, cash down, and a Ford rebate. After repeatedly requesting our paperwork, the dealership initially sent us only a product menu, which revealed that over $9,000 in optional products (maintenance plan, vehicle protection, tire & wheel, windshield, appearance, theft protection, etc.) had been added to the loan. When we finally received the full Retail Installment Sales Contract, there was no signed page showing acceptance of these products and no page showing our declinations — yet the products were embedded directly into the amount financed. When questioned, the finance department stated they would “start the cancellation process,” confirming the products had been added and needed to be reversed. This is something customers should never have to discover after the fact. We are now waiting for thousands of dollars to be removed from our loan — something that would have gone unnoticed if we hadn’t carefully checked our lender balance. This experience was stressful, misleading, and completely avoidable. Buyers should review their lender account immediately, demand copies of all signed documents, and not assume declined products were actually declined. This is fraud. Transparency matters — and it was lacking here.
